thank god it isn't cancer but my sister has hepC from a blood transfusion over 30 years ago So at 1:30 this morning after 20 mg of fat (ice cream) she takes her one pill and then begins the struggle to keep it down. Dry gagging so bad she woke her husband up, took her to the ER, got her on zofran. No options whatsoever to vomiting or waiting till she feels better before taking these meds- the meds and the schedule of those meds are critical to getting her hepC free. She is still queasy even after zofran- is there anything stronger she can take? thanks for your help! |

We are all different. Some things may, or may not, get rid of nausea but the MJ did that plus made me feel good too.

How about ginger capsules?
That helps me - one or two a couple of times a day. Or ginger candies/ginger tea.
Another good anti-nauseant for me is hydroxyzine HCl (Atarax). It is a prescription anti-histamine, similar to Benadryl - also works for anxiety and itching, but is known as well as an anti-nauseant. It has always worked well for me, but it does make you sleepy. 25 - 50 mg.
I would do one or both of these in conjunction with the Zofran. As someone who panics at the thought of vomiting, I have set myself an arsenal of tricks.

Phenergan -- similar to Zofran but works on some people when Zofran doesn't. Comes in pill form and also a gel you rub on your wrist. The latter worked on my mom when nothing else did.
