My mother was had a PET 6 months ago of the chest for possible lung cancer. Came back suspicious with a bright mass in both lungs. She refuses the biopsy as she says she is too old for treatment and she is afraid. She is 80. Now she is hospitalized with pancreatitis. GI says they want to do a scope to check for gallstone or cancer. My sister had the scope last year and it gave her pancreatitis and she was in pain and hospitalized for three weeks. I know when my mother hears the pancreatitis could happen again she will refuse the scope and I guess it would not matter anyway as she probably would let them treat it anyway. So I guess I would like prayers for no caancer and prayers for my sisters (there are 7 of us) and my brother. 3 of my sisters are taking turns staying with her at hospital. I can only do short stints during the day because I need to be with JIm and we live 30 minutes away.

Thanks for listening and thanks for the prayers.

Debbie

You got 'em, Debbie, that the bright spots are nothing alarming, which might very well be the case. In this world of our's, now, there's a lotta different things out there which it could be.

    Debbie,
I'm praying for your mother that the bright spots are NOT cancer. Just believe and don't let negative thoughts take control( I know it's hard).
My mother was hospitalized with pancreatitis in 2009. She had to have her gallbladder removed. She's 84.
i think your mother is going to be fine.

    Thanks for the prayers
Thanks for the prayers everyone. Just returned from hospital. Doctors are well pleased with her progress dispite the other issues that have come up. She developed irregular heart beats and high heart rate then fluid on the lungs. The lowered her fluids and gave her lacix which is controling the fluid. Meds are keeping heart rate down but still errratic. Cardiologist sasys pancriatitis is more important to take care of right now so will deal with atrial fib when that is cleared up. The prayers are working, keep them coming.

    So Far So Good
Good to hear she's doing well so far. Hope she's like Tesa's mom and gets through the pancreatitis just fine. Then on to the next step.
