I'like to hear what other people say about this. I have heard both: that it can be gone forever and that it is always lurking . I want to believe in the gone forever part, but if it is true, why do so many peopke say otherwise? What is the real scoop?
In fact, reading websites online that are so full of the "no cure" expression is quite dangerous and upsetting. What is the truth?

I don't have the answer for Richsters question, but I've known some who stay in remission for very long times and others like me who deal with relapses. There is no guarantee as with anything in life. I can always hope for the best though! That never changes.

I am quite new to this follicular lymphoma business--my understanding, during discussions with my oncologist: "treatable, not curable"--remissions happen, and may last for a long time, or there could be recurrence. He said "you're more likely to live a long time, and something else will get you"-- Kind of like Beth says--hope and pray for the best-- Take care of ourselves and live each day to the fullest that we are able!!
