CP9 - COLON PALOOZA #9 - anyone that hasn't purchased airfare or reserved a room yet?

I am copying and pasting some of Suzann's info from an earlier post below my post here. I know many have planned well in advance, but there are many of us with ongoing treatments that do not have that luxury. If anyone is still interested in going, American Airlines has a nice sale right now for flights into Chicago from a lot of cities. It is cheaper to fly Wednesday to Saturday than Thursday to Sunday in many instances. I've found I can fly MSP to ORD Wednesday night, returning Saturday night for $139 including all taxes and fees. To go the correct days, Thursday to Sunday, the cost is $186.

THE SALE ENDS TOMORROW. So if you are thinking about booking a flight on AA for CP9, you have to decide quickly if you want these great prices. Go to AA.com to book.

I would love to attend CP9, and am thinking hard about how to afford it, and what can be done about my treatment schedule to make this work. I have chemo scheduled for October 13th. The next weekend is my son's Family Weekend at college, and I do not want to miss that, so I can't push chemo out to that week. The 13th was to be my last chemo before another scan and consult with the radiologists to try SBRT and take a chemo break. maybe I'll have to push my onc to move that schedule up a bit! Or maybe push out Sep 29th to Oct 6th and have that be my last one before the scan. It is just never easy for me to schedule anything...

Is there anyone else not signed up (non-smoker) that might be interested in sharing a room at a less expensive hotel than the main event hotel? Please contact me via email if you are interested. Weekend Itinerary will look something like this, and you are welcome to join the group for any and all activities:
Thursday: 5-7pm hotel reception with drinks and light appetizers to kick-off event,go over weekend itinerary, pass out any goodies, make sure we have each other's phone numbers; go to Irish Pub after reception

Friday: morning sightseeing at Millenium Park, group lunch at 1pm location TBD, 6pm boat tour of downtown on river

Saturday: Navy Pier and Wrigley Park Tour during the day, evening pizza party and hang out
