Glutamine

My husband has been using a product called juven since the beginning of his finding out about his cancer. It has glutamine in it which I read a lot about on this site as being so beneficial to maintaining lean muscle tissue. It also has arginine in it which is another amino acid. Does anyone know if arginine causes mouth sores for sure? Also, we put juven through his peg tube so is he missing the benefit of glutamine for mouth sores?

    I cannot answer the question
I cannot answer the question about arginine, but from everything I have read, you must swish and swallow the l-glutamine in order to get the benefits of it helping with the mucusitis. In the studies I've read, it was delivered orally, swish and swallow, and was beneficial. I believe I have one of the studies on the superthread, if you want to check me and make sure. I'm 99% sure though.

    Agree
I agree with Sweet, don’t know anything about juven or arginine but like sweet said if you want the benefits of Glutamine you will need to take it orally
