long time lurker

Options
I just thought it was about time I introduced myself, i have been lurking for sometime! My husband was dx BOT scc on March 18/10, stage 4 lymph node involvement on both sides. Completed chemo and 7 weeks of rads in July 2010 with surgery in Dec to remove the lymph nodes. I have followed along with everyone and feel like I know you all. I have mentioned to others that I know also dealing with this battle to check out this site. So far all is going well, mostly, had a little scare at his one year follow up and well..i am still a little concerned but they are not. It seems they found a floating node in his abdomen, just wondered if anyone else has had/heard of this? By the way thanks to many of you regulars who have provided more insight and understanding that you know..as i am sure i am not the only lurker!

    Welcome Anniew
My husband is finishing treatment for BOT with metastis to two lymph nodes. I have never heard of floating node but I am sure someone has on the site.

Praying for peace and comfort for you both.

    floating node
Never heard of it but if Dr isn't concerned (as you indicated) then I would rest a bit easier. As time progresses you will get a bit less paranoid. I know my first few years every time something happened my first thoughts were cancer. However I also know it can be beaten so now I'm not as anxious as I was when I first heard the "C" word.

Would like to know what this is just for my own curosity.

    Welcome to the board.

    I'm With Denny
Never heard of a floating node in the stomach, and am interested. Also, glad to hear that doc isn't concerned - that is always a help. And have to agree with you - I think cancer survivors and caregivers develope their own kind of paranoia - or should I be "PC" and say "heightened awareness" or "elevated sensitivity level"?

    Heightened awareness I like
Heightened awareness I like it ...sounds much better than paranoid or hypocondriac!
