    Slow growing
I Follicular lymphoma, which is slow growing. My doctor first noticed my enlarge spleen. I had a pretty aggressive treatment program because I was stage 4 and pretty advanced. It is not uncommon to wait on treatment to see how it advances. My advice is to get to a good cancer center to get a second opinion.

    Lymphoma
Thanks for reply. Actually I have opinions from two of three doctors seen.
The VA, not surprisingly, wanted to do nothing.
However, the UCLA hospital wanted to remove my spleen right away.

The third doctor had nothing to say, not very impressive doctor.

Oh, the medical staff or the Madigan Medical Center said I should keep my spleen.

You are lucky they let you keep yours. There is a large profit in removing spleens. Hosiptals love to do surgery. What tx are you getting?

    Large Spleen
My ex husband was diagnosed with lymphoma, his spleen was 8 times it size, never asked to have it removed.

    Follicular
My spleen was enlarged but with treatment, it shrunk to almost normal size. You can live without your spleen, but if you don't have to do it, why? My treatment was RFND plus Zevalin.
