I had my first chemo Taxoter on Wednesday. I have felt a little tired yesterday and today and had insomnia both nights. Now I am starting to feel a little queasy and a little more fatigued. Hope this is as bad as it gets!

Day 3: Doing ok. It is manageable. Tired, some nausea off and on. Cracker seem to help. Have been able to take dogs out for short walks. Hope this is the worst that it gets.

Any advice is appreciated.

    ANTI NAUSEA MEDS...
I can't stress this enough...take them pro actively...don't wait til you feel nauseated...to late then....I took them religiously starting the day BEFORE chemo and for 3 days following....never had the first wave of nausea...I'm now on an oral chemo for a recurrence and doing the same with the anti nausea meds...so far so good....

    Wishing you easier days..

    thanks
I have taken the nausea meds religiously. The queasy is more like indigestion than nausea. What I hate is the headache from the nausea meds. As with everythhing I will survive this.

Dont wait either to be constipated, have senokot or colace handy and imodium as well just in case after neulasta, 3rd to 5th days after the infussion are the worst and then all starts to fade away, drink plenty of water and gatorade, bananas and toast..
    you will b just fine
    love and good luck!

    Nausea meds
I never needed them, when i had my chemo sessions they put me anti-nausea as a shot in my IV and that was enough - never got nauseated, i had them but had no need of them trough the whole ordeal - try to go easy w/food for the 1st week then start to increase a little bit more the next 2, your body will tell you - if you just follow a very soft diet for the 5 to 6 first days after your infussion like soups, cackers, toast, rice, fruit and plenety of drinks, you will probably don't need any med, mention this to your onco on your next appoint.

    Did you call your oncologist
Did you call your oncologist and tell him how you are feeling? He needs to know as there are so many meds out there that can help you thru this.

I hope this is as bad as it gets for you too!! I've had 2 treatments and the 3, 4, 5th were my toughest.
They gave me Lorazpam for anti anxiety and nausea and it makes me sleep like a baby at night. You need your sleep so let your onc know right away that you can't sleep.

    Wishing you well!!!

    thinking of you....
I've also completed two cycles of chemo so far, and I think the first one was the worst...because I didn't know what to expect. What I found is every day is a better day. Rest when you need to, listen to your body. Drink plenty of water too! Wishing you an uneventful chemo regime with no SE's in sight.
