Coming back fast after chemo ends??

Hello All You Lovely, Lovely Ladies,

I was diagnosed with IDC, ER+, Stage 3b in April.

After 5 rounds of A/C and one Taxol (BAD reaction) I received my last chemo on July 12th. The tumor went down to 2cm (from 6!) YAY!

Last Monday I thought the lump was feeling bigger, on Wednesday I definitely thought it was bigger and my armpits ached.

I went in, they did an ultrasound, but did not compare it to the MRI that I had 3 weeks ago. They just assured me that it was the clip I was feeling and that there was no way it could start growing back so fast.

This morning it feels even bigger to me and I found another small lump (about the size of a pinhead) about an inch away from the original one.

I have an appointmet with my GP (for my pre op exam, bilateral mastectomy is scheduled Aug. 18th) this coming Tuesday.

Could it be growing back again so soon? I am kinda freaking out. It grew very fast the first time. I just don't want it to go into my lymph nodes. I had one positive sentinal lymph node test positive in and one showed up in an MRI in my chest in April.

Thank you to anyone who might have any advice or insight. All of you brave Ladies are SO wonderful.

♥ Vigee

    Told not to worry.
A Doctor friend of mine said not to worry. It is probably inflamation or scar tissue I am feeling.

    :)
  • Taxol reaction?
What reaction did you have to Taxol? I just started it three weeks ago. I feel horrible. I am just tired and run down. Occasionally I feel sick to my stomach but doing it weekly is a bit much. Wondered what you experienced.

By poking at it you may be
By poking at it you may be creating some inflammation. Try to leave it alone till the doc looks at it!

They probably couldn't schedule the surgery any sooner. Once you have the mastectomy, it will be gone anyway.

    Hi sis
I was doing the same thing to myself, stop feeling around...lol..mine was 7cm and went down to 6..I was feeling lumps everywhere I touched...you will be fine, breath. Before you know it you will be home resting from the surgery, dealing with the pain in the but drain, and wishing it was out of you...so relax, now, surgery is soon...get yourself some of those surgical gauzes that have a slit in them, you will want them in the house, because after the surgery you will have to change the bandage. CVS sells them, I went through a few boxes of them, at least 2...love the pic of your hair being cut. Hang in there...one step at a time, I have had my last radiation now, and even have hair again, I look like a duck...so my partner is calling me duckhead lately, lol...better than the word that rhymes with it I suppose..lol
    Hang in there. Sinee

    I never changed the dressing
I never changed the dressing per Surgeon's orders. Left the Hospital with a pressure bandage that strapped me down (Drain tubes went out the bottom of it) and told not to change it til I saw Surgeon in a week. Surgeon removed it then and no more bandaging was required. What really surprised me was as the incision went from mid chest to under back side of arm there were no external stitches - there had been none when he put in my port but that was only about an inch long so that didn't surprise me but as long as the surgery incision was it really surprised me that there were none.

    It's probably scar tissue,
It's probably scar tissue, but, wishing you good luck with your appointment. I know it is hard to not worry, but, try not to.

    if her reaction was bad
if her reaction was bad enough for only one round it was probably like mine... I had my face swell up, turn red and it got hard to breath the nurses had to pump me full of benadril and some other stuff and put oxygen mask on.
