News from a happy man

I hesitated to post this good news as so many here are hurting. But, I thought that maybe some good news is what we all need. I just had my 16 month post treatment PET scan and it came back normal. Just call me Ned !! This is my second normal scan in 8 months.. I was so happy for the good reading at this time. I felt wonderful and was hoping that I wasn't making up all the good vibrations that I was feeling.
I am posting this to say to us all, good things happen too! I know that many are up against the wall in worry, I was too at one time. Now I am trying to move on for the next 6-12 months and live the new normal as a happy man, not a worried man. I have limitations in eating, hearing, seeing, etc, but to be given a clear scan makes it all workable somehow.
I pray for each of us to gain a sense of relief from our stresses and that we all will be cured from this terrible disease. I will continue my prayers in earnest for those going through some second rounds of illness. My heart is with you in your fight. There is hope.
For now, I am a happy man......

Now how could you not want to share that great news....

I had the same reservations, you almost feel a little guilty because so many are having set-backs. But being positive and seeing positive news is also a good thing.

I get depressed and certainly the anxiety sets in when I see so many on here having news that's not the best either. I sometimes don't want to come on here when there's a lot of it. But then also I want to share and help as many as I can in my "untraditional" sense of humor, but also in an honest view from my experiences and the things that I went through.

Glad to see a positive post, it lifts us all...

    Best,

I remember my first post treatment PET. It had hot spots that had shrunk by 50% from the first one. They say that is normal and that it takes a few months for the hot spots to go away....just remember this is a marathon, not a sprint to the cured finish line. Take good care of your hubby and make him eat well and get some exercise. It all helps in the healing.
I've got your 8/26 date on my calendar....prayers for you till then.,
    All the best,
    Steve

    Steve, CONGRATULATIONS!
A bit of good news on this board is always a welcome distraction. I come here most every day, because I want to give back what has been given to me, and to give hope and encouragement to those who need it. Honestly, if it weren't for the balance of good news, people with their quirky sense of humor, and stories of joy, it would be too overwhelming to come here every day. I couldn't and probably wouldn't do it. There always needs to be balance, a ying & yang.

Never feel guilty for providing good news, for in that, there is hope. One of the major things required in this battle is hope. Hope, humor, strength, faith, and attitude are everything. Least in my mind anyway.

A Joy Shared is a Joy Doubled
Great to hear it. I went through a phase where I felt I was recovering VERY well after rads - too well to post - I didn't want to be rubbing my good fortune in the faces of people who were suffering. I think, though, that I shouldn't have thought that way. Later, when I was unable to get clean scans after treatment, it still made me happy to see others dancing with NED. And I did get to join in on the party, it just took me a little while to get there. So, keep "Bragging" to us - we love it.

Thanks for all the good thoughts. I am very fortunate and I know it! One: to be NED for the last 8 months and two: to have such good and caring friends on CSN.

Onward to good things. For us all....

Great to hear the news (even if you have ties to the wrong side of the Mississippi River).
Hope many more such reports find you down the long road of your life.

Yes, I like to hear from happy survivors. You are so right, most have limitations but it could be worse. Mentoring for others showing them it can be done is special. Congrats to you. Looking for many more.

    Gives us hope
As a complete newbie who is going through treatment I can't go to the messages yet where others have had setbacks. I am just not ready and dont have anything to add, but hopefully over time will be able to support others too.

I am so grateful for this board. I read the positive ones so that I can be inspired and have hope that I too can do this. Please would all of you continue to post positive messages on here as it really does lift us particularly those who are just starting their journey.

    And of course congrats!
