My apology to Natly

It was probably my comment that made you feel badly. I apologize to you publicly, because I know that your list had nothing to do with you personally--or me!! Since my DX and surgery, I have felt so much less of a person in so many ways. I am overly sensitive about most things. You are a wonderful support person, as is everyone on this board. Thanks to all of you for "listening" to me; I know I do not contribute a lot on posts, but I read many.

I will be lighting the candle with prayers at 9PM Friday.

    It's ok Lizzie..........
Who knows if it was even your comment. I sure don't know what happened but don't feel bad for what you feel.
I am also overly sensitive sometimes and truth be told.........I wasn't mad at all over the list that Natly posted, but I was a little sad that I wasn't on it !!!!!!
How bad are we with our emotions :)
I don't post a lot either or I go through spurts, but I read all the time too.
God Bless you Lizzie and remember we are all going through so many different things and in my mind, nothing is wrong or right unless of course it was done with malice and I don't know any of us here with that intent.
    Have a great day!
    Hugs,
    Wanda

Lets put all the apologies behind us and move on to doing what we do best and that is supporting all the newbies and the oldies (oops )who are figting this dreaded disease. Love you Lizzie. Wanda how could I not love you we are pink sisters and fellow Italians, but I'll bet your biscottis, pizza and gravy aren't as good as mine. :)

You are so funny! Forgot about the Italian connection.I'm not taking that bet on the food because you probably would beat me but what's up with "gravy"? Never called it that in my house. My mother and grandparents were all born in Sicily (Palermo and Messina) and we said "sauce". Gandolfo is the family name.
Getting hungry now, thanks because I think I have said enough times about my "snacking habits" !
    Love you all!

    I too am Italian
100%. Sicilian and Calabrese. I love to cook, love Italy and go every few years. If I could eventually retire there, my little world would be perfect.

    Yes that is it
Clementina, it is sort of a family name. I always felt like it was an old fashioned name growing up, but now I have come to embrace it. Thanks so much!

    You're welcome! I just love
You're welcome! I just love ethnic names :) My mom always went by Constance or Connie and her real name is Concetta.
I always tell her to use it. I even call her that ( when I'm being fresh). When my grandparents came to this country, they wanted to be Americanized (My grandmothers' words, not mine) and they often changed their names for that reason. She went by Jenny and her beautiful name is Jovinina. My grandfather had an olive oil and produce company in the North End of Boston and would you believe he changed the Gandolfo spelling to Gandolpho for business. My grandmother put her foot down on that one though and would never spell it that way!

Thanks for making me reminisce about family history. Nice talking to you my friend.

    Ha! Same thing here!
Had an aunt who went by Connie but who's real name was Concetta. My father changed his name from Domenico to Donald and my mother from Antonina to Nina (the thing that kills me is that they then proceeded to give me a really ethnic name! lol!). So glad that your grandmother won that fight!

Thanks to you too. Always nice to take a trip down memory lane.

Sauce/Gravy you call it tomato I call it tomatoe
Wanda the only reason I called it gravy is because I thought all you gals in the NE part of the country call it gravy. We always called it sauce and still call it sauce.

OMG the Italian names. My aunts name was Vincenzia, and my granmother was Ignazia, wow am I ever happy I was never named after them. My fathers family came from Mirabella Imbaccarra, Sicilia, somewhere outside of Palermo. My moms family came from Calabria. Yes, I dont speak the language because my mother wanted us kids to be full blooded American. They called my aunt Virginia and my grandmother Agnes. Phew still glad I wasnt named after my grandmother.
