"Our Lost WARRIORS", What I know .....

Our hearts are sad, our lives a little empty -- losing a beloved Sister here on our boards is devastating, and makes no sense in my world. I try to concentrate on this milestones achieved by so many Kindred Spirits here, and memorialize those that have departed our earth, far too soon. I think of these Sisters daily.

What I know, and will always remember:

Moopy23 -- Lisa was such a kind and gentle soul. Teacher by profession, but advocacy was her passion, as well as our dear beloved brother Aortus and their pup's. #23 I recall, is for Michael Jordan of the Boston Celtics - basketball team.

MaMaG -- Surfing photo, singing rock and roll with a band -- sporting hot pink, spiky wig singing lead .. another Teacher if I am not mistaken -- she had a "never give in" attitude. Fighter to the very end.

Heidijez -- so gentle, so kind. I recall her photo of the small brown bag with orange candle representing 'Halloween'.

Meena -- First memory is that of Meena walking on the beach with her husband, and grand babies .. she has a way of making everyone comfortable, welcomed and loved. I know she is advid Philly's fan - and Football fan. She had an amazing attitude, along with loving life.

Just wanted to share my memories ... I am sure there are other sisters I have neglected to mention -- .. sorry.

    Being a newbie here, thank you Vicki Sam in helping me to see the beautiful souls behind each of the names we lost this past year. My heart is heavy reading of Meena's passing, I hardly knew her but she was already like family. I can't wait to hear other pink sisters memories of these beautiful women.

    I'm a newbie too
    I'm a newbie too. I also feel I know them now.Seems since I was on the Board I saw Meena posting.Just not sure.I do know the name.

    These pink sisters will truly be missed by us and their family and friends.

    We miss all of you and will remember you.

    Though I don't remember her being active here, Thomas (Marine 911) certainly was so to me that makes her part of our family.

    Strawberry Shortscake is another that we need to remember. Unfortunately it seems we will never know how she is doing as it's has been soo long since she posted and was not doing good at that time.

    We have all been touched by such marvelous spirits.

    The following is a poem by Linda Ellis © 1998. Consider the implications for your own life's choices

    I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend
    He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end.
    He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears,
    But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

    For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth...
    And now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.

    For it matters not, how much we own; the cars .... the house... the cash.
    What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.

    So think about this long and hard ... are there things you'd like to change?
    For you never know how much time is left. (You could be at "dash mid-range")

    If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real,
    And always try to understand the way other people feel.

    And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more,
    And love the people in our lives like we've never loved before.

    If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile...
    Remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

    So, when your eulogy's being read with your life's actions to rehash...
    Would you be proud of the things they say about how you spend your dash??

    Please be careful using this poem without the express permission of Linda Ellis as she will sue you. I speak from experience dear sisters.. this person has searching software and if you use this poem without paying for the right to do she will find you...

    It's a shame that we have to be so careful.. the poem is lovely and it would fantastic to be able to share it but beware it will cost you thousands if it is discovered you have done so without permission...

    I miss each and every one of them along with a few from other boards on this site. We grow with the knowledge we each share and we draw strength from each other. They were each unique and strong women who willingly shared them selves with us and I will be forever grateful for each one of them.

    Marcia mentioned the 2 lost Kindreds I was going to mention as well...young_one also posted on the Young Cancer Survivors board and she was a vibrant warrior who fought so hard and lost much too early. And Trish? Our IrishWhispers who "loved us more than her luggage"...she was one of my first ornament exchange buddies...the ♥ she sent me is a permanent fixture in my living room, held by and angel. Sigh....

    Yes, we have all lost some amazing kindred spirits. I also thought of Deb1969. As I recall Meena was close to her. Her avatar was a boxer. I hate this disease and the wonderful souls that are stolen away. Way too soon.

    These are the 4 sisters we have lost this year and since I've been posting. Each loss put tears running down my face. Your memory of each was right on! May they all know we still think about them and the trials they faced. It is so great that Joe still posts. I loved that he and Moopy (Lisa) shared their thoughts with us. Each of the 4 wonderful pink sisters taught us never to give up hope. They will be remembered for a long time to come.

My heart is so heavy when I read about them, but, what I remember about them, is that that each one would tell us to fight on. They were amazing ladies and I miss the ones that I knew and I am sorry that I never got a chance to know the others.

    I have a pleasure to meet and know all of our angels mentioned here. To me they are still with us. I miss them deeply .
