Haven't posted for some time. Don is eating better but has had some other issues since last I wrote. 6 weeks ago he had Rotater Cuff Surgery. He is doing therapy but still has a lot of pain. He has lost more weight and can't seem to gain any back. Guess that is part of the process. He has been through a lot since his EC surgery last December. Don't know how much more his body can endure. Please keep him in your prayers.

Sorry he's having ongoing problems. Praying h'll be better soon.
As I've stated before, weight loss was a problem for me after surgery--99 pds before I quit losing. I've gained 9 back and that's ok, as long as I'm stablized.
You and Don are in my prayers,

    Thinking of You
    Hello Reba
God bless you and Don. I am happy to hear that he has done well with his EC surgery. Hopefully eating more fattening foods will help him to gain some weight. Wish I had that problem some days! Recovering from any surgery is a long process. It takes our bodies a long time to heal. My mom had a 4 bypass surgery and valve replacement in Dec. It took her a full 3 months to recover. You tell Don that slow and easy wins the race. You are lucky to still have your husband. I lost my dad to EC in March 2010. Count your blessings, and live each day. Keep in touch, and we will keep you both in our prayers.

My husband went through the treatment and surgery with two rotator cuff tears: one reparable; the other previously repaired somehow re-tore during all the goings-on. He got to have his shoulder repaired that could be repaired a few months ago. Those cuff repairs are really painful. Sometimes he needed ice, but due to his weight loss, he needed something to keep his shoulder warm.

I ordered a "Bucky" brand neck pillow from Washington state area. It is filled with natural millet hulls and has a soft cover. It just lays over the shoulder and stays there all night. It just collects the body's heat and stays warm. Much prefer it, personal opinion, than to the microbeads. By his being able to sleep better and not having as much pain with his shoulder, he is more rested.

He is still much thinner than before all this; however, we have stopped his weight loss. His appetite has essentially returned if he remembers to separate liquid from food and avoid soft, doughy textures. It took well over a year for him to be weight stable. Yet, all it takes is his missing a meal because he's too busy to eat.[I don't have that problem : ( . Then, he drops 2 or 3 pounds just like that.

Hopefully, as soon as that shoulder stops being so painful, he will start to gain some weight. Prayers for you all and for all our EC discussion group members and families.

I'll see if I can get one of those neck pillows. Maybe it will help him to sleep.
Thanks for your prayers and comments. It helps to know that others have gone through the same kind of things.
