My hubby and I are having a great weekend. Yesterday, we shared a bowl of tomato soup and he had a few bites of a grilled cheese sammie, w/out the crust. The day before, he had some ramen noodles and 1/2 a turkey sammie. I am so happy for him, he is feeling great and is looking forward to having some meatloaf and gravy tonight. Looks like he is done with the post cooking stage and on his way to healing. Happy Sunday!!!

Great news, it will not be long before he will be pulling you over into the KFC. I am very happy to see him doing so well, now comes the part you have been waiting for his new normal.

God bless you both and enjoy the rest of your life.

This is good news as I know you have been through a lot lately. It will not be long before you are sitting down to a nice piece of fish or a good steak.

It does get better.

I am ready for some steak. He made a rule, no one can have steak until he can eat steak again. We still have a long way to go. He is eating a few bites a day, but that is a major improvement.

LOL, man that brings back memories.....

I made a rule, my wife wasn't allowed to eat out with anyone while I couldn't eat...LOL. Stupid I know and self centered, but it really irritated me at the time....If I couldn't eat out nobody was gonna eat out, LOL....looking back now it was bad of me...but under the circumstances we aren't whom we normally are.

Best,
John

You are right about not being yourself.. My husband said the other day that Saturday was the first day he actually felt like his old self. Know he is full of piss and vinegar!!!!LOL

He'll have ups and downs, but more than likely, he's not going to change much...ya, a few minor things, tastes, outlook of what's important, maybe things like that....but not the things that makes him the person you know and love....

I don't think you'd want it any other way...

Not sure how I missed your post over the weekend, Arndog, and wanted to congratulate you both. Yay for the great times, they help the more challenging times easier to get through.

It's so good to hear the 'up' in your posting voice!

Great to hear your hubby is back to eating again. Little nibbles here & there are a sign of great thing's to come. It did not bother me when people ate yummy food in my presence. Weird I know but it sort of motivated me!

Prayer works. I am so happy to hear the progress. I thank God for answered prayers. May things continue to progress rapidly. I will read this to Jim many times these last few weeks of treatment to help keep his spirits up. Thank you for sharing the great progress and God Bless

Glad to hear all is getting better. Remember have patience, it takes a while to get to the steak stage again.....I love steak now and couldn't eat it 9 months ago. Make sure he is getting enough calories. Shove food at him all day!!
all the best,
Steve

Here's hoping you both are doing well this weekend too, surviving the heat, finding joy in the little things.

As one of his first requests for food by mouth my husband also asked for grilled cheese and tomato soup, instead of the usual homemade (he's an excellent cook among many other skills and has his own soup cookbook) I used Campbell's tomato, Andy Warhol style, blended with Snowville Creamery whole milk. He ate it!

Thinking of you, Arndog, and sending prayers your way.
