no treatment

My Dad age 86 , not a candidate for surgery due to other conditions, with stage 2 NSCLC, has decided not to pursue treatment. He is currently in a skilled nursing home due to painfull nerve conditions stemming from a "bad back", recently diagnosed parkingsons and other. He declined a bone scan to get full diagnoses. I have been trying to get information about what to expect both in the severity and speed of symptoms. I am not sure he will be able to get back to his apt. at an assisted living facility (same retirement complex) due to bad hip pain and a catheter due to prostrate (non- cancer) issues.
Thanks for your help
John

At 86, I guess your dad is old enough to make his own decisions about treatment, and you seem to recognize that. Possibly the best thing you can do for him is to help him find a good hospice that will treat his pain and respect his wishes regarding treatment...
