I went back to work monday after 6 wks sick time (post hysterctomy) I went back monday and tues AM had to drive my daughter 19 yrs to ER and then she was admitted for week. Very bad kidney infection...stayed the week....I slept there nightly with her and then went to work in the am and back again...after being out 6 wks I really couldn't take more days off (of course I DID to take her to the ER...but while out on 6wks leave my job was moved so i returned to a new boss which made it ever worse)

    Wow...
you certainly had a lot to deal with! Glad you were able to be with your daughter....and very impressed with the energy and stamina you found in yourself to work and do all this.
Sorry to hear your new boss is not friendly......but you got the right attitude....don't take it personally :-) Life is too short. Glad to hear your daughter is doing better. Hugs to you both.

Thanks for reply...yes so happy she is better..and happy to be at home...(also no more sleeping in chair..not much rest needless to say) Back to work tomorrow..first day of summer school (I now work in SPecial Ed building) so we'll see how I make out first busy day! IT would be nice to have friendly boss-but I must go with the flow...just happy I have a job since many were let go..I was just moved. My daughter is much better...still a ways to go!

    WHEW! Enough already!!!!
I'm glad to hear your darling is better, but WHAT a trial for you!!!!

I know it's hard to think of, but this could not be avoided by you....I think the boss will understand...especially if you have been a loyal employee for 10 years!!!!

Here's to a breather to enjoy life for you!!!!

    Hugs, Kathi

I am so sorry that you are
I am so sorry that you are both having a hard time. You are both in my prayers today.

Please tell your daughter to drink lots of fluids, don't stay on bedrest (every day on bedrest increases our chances of a kidney infection), do try and walk regularly, and consider taking a cranberry pill twice a day (ask your doctor first). Cranberry has a substance in it that lines the bladder (like teflon) and keeps bacteria from sticking. It won't help if the kidney infection was caused from stones or obstruction, but it can really help if the infection "climbed up" from the bladder.

    Hope this helps!

    There are times
There are times that I think we are the queens of "when it rains, it pours." That being said it will be a good example for future generations of the sacrifices one makes for a loved one. The seed you planted will grow and bear fruit.
