Silly I know but I cant stop smiling. MY eyelashes are back!!!! Its funny how something so small has me dancing around the house. They are short but I had to put mascara on lol. My last chemo was on May 10th and I was told not to expect hair for at least 6 months. Well I have a good covering of thick dark fuzz on head , outline of brows and EYELASHES! Oh yes and the dreaded chin hairs are longer than any others(bummer)but even that cant stop the smile. Happy 4th of July to all.
Tami

    The first time to wear
The first time to wear mascara after treatment wasn't that long ago for me...so I completely understand your joy. And I think it's a very good reason to celebrate!

    Tami,
That was me just a few short months ago. I too even celebrated my chin hairs and be prepared within a couple of months you will be celebrating having "bad hair" days when those cowlicks start appearing and sticking up every which way. Isn't this an exciting time?? My last treatment was Jan. 7th of this year and my morning routine of shaving and grooming is increasing as the weeks go by. YIKES... gotta start setting the alarm clock earlier.

Have a great holiday weekend and keep batting those lashes,
    Hugs,
    Lorrie

My eyebrows came out too. I looked like a big mouth bass--nothing but eye balls. I am very happy to have my lashes and brows back. Congrats to you!

    So exciting
Recently I was able to get back into my contacts after nearly 8 months of dry eyes and then no lashes. I TOTALLY get it!! It is strange where hair is appearing that I never noticed pre-chemo, oh well.

    Do that happy dance !!!!!

    gives appreciating the
gives appreciating the little things a new meaning. I think of all the hair the eyelashes bothered me the most. congrats. BTW dont get discouraged if they come out again, mine did a couple of times, and still grow in unevenly sometimes like they are confused! however they grow back really fast (couple of days). I look at that the chemo is still working in my system keeping the cancer at bay. (just my weird way of thinking lol)

I think losing the brows and lashes was harder for me
than losing my head hair. That I could cover up with a sexy scarf, but the brows and lashes--that's when I really felt like a "cancer patient". It is a great day when they start coming back in. My left brow is really sparse still, but I doctor it up with pencil and it looks okay.

    Congrats!
