My Mother is a 38 year old mother of 6 boys including myself. She was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer while in the hospital giving birth to my youngest brother, now 2 years old. She is a strong woman, and has put up one heck of a fight considering the extremity of her cancer. The cancer has spread to her back as well as to her colon. Just recently she had suffered a fall and had begun complaining that her head was in an immense amount of pain. Her health has since taken a turn for the worst. She is no longer undergoing chemotherapy due to the fact that it is doing more harm than good. Since her fall, Her Dr is uncertain of whether she is suffering the effects of a stroke or brain hemorrhaging, therefore leaving me and my family clueless of what now is taking place. She can hardly speak , yet she tries so hard and it is difficult to deal with. My Mother's Dr said it would be pointless to look into whether it was a stroke or brain hemorrhaging. There is now nothing medically fighting her cancer, only faith. This woman who is so full of life is now laying helpless and incapable of so much less than what she was 4 days ago. I have came to realize that there is power in prayer with patience. I believe in miracles and even if the Lord does not lend her to us for another 38 years, I pray that he at least lets her speak to us. I ask that everyone who reads this please pray for her. I understand that she is in a very difficult stage in her illness, but God is even more potent than the extent of her cancer. No weapon formed against thee shall prosper says Isaiah 54-17. Anyone with advice or words of encouragement are welcome, everyone is welcome. There is power in prayer, that is something I am putting all faith into.

    What a wonderful son you
What a wonderful son you are, your lovely mother must be so proud of you. I am so sorry to hear what she and all your family must be going through at this time.
Is there any chance of getting other opinions? Is she still in any pain?
She and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

PRAYERS FOR LENA AND HER SONS
I am so touched by your love for your Mother, and your very articulate account of your feelings and concerns for her. How blessed she is to have 6 wonderful sons who love her very much.

You are so right - Our Lord is much greater than cancer. And in our weakness, we sometimes ask 'why' someone must endure so much. But we live in this fleshly body, subject to these unfortunate 'things of the earth'. But know this - God loves your Mom even more than you can possibly love her. And as her Heavenly Father, it pains Him to see her this way, too. But because He is so much greater, He sees past that pain and will heal her body and spirit. Since it will be in His time, I don't know if you'll have another day with your Mom, or another year or another 30 years. By your words I know your faith is strong, and that is what will carry you through whatever you must endure.

One of my favorite scriptures during my battle with cancer was another Isaih verse: 'They shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint'. Please read Psalm 91 to your Mother, as it was also a great comfort to me - 'He shall raise you up on eagles wings, hold you in the palm of His hand'.

My many prayers to you and your family, and (((HUGS))) as well. Please post again when you are able.

    Yes
Yes, you have touched me with your words for your beloved mother. She IS too young for this serious disease, as is my mother of 65. In my eyes my mother is as young as your mother. Keep your faith and hope alive. Multiple opinions with highly specialized doctors are recommended. Don't let the drs give up hope with your mother. Fight for her treatment.

    Love to uour mums
    Hi,
I am a daughter of mum 61 of age with ppc origin in ovarian cancer stage IV. My mum is 61, not as young as yours but still, its mum. She is going through a very tough time. We were told that she did not have long to live but something turned this month and she is doing better. I hope this miracle can happen to your mum too. Its not forever, but for a while. We live step by step and I am sure that you will do the best of the time left. Collect memories, tell her your love and so on. Time is precious. Lots of love,

    Millie (Europe)
