aborted liver resection

in Colorectal Cancer #1
still recovering from June 1st. They did look lapos, but preceded to take out liver which proved to be in bad shape, toxic from chemo, fatty, and small left side. Liver transplant surgeon and my surgeon agreed it would not sustain me if they went with resection, tumor was larger than thought and near blood vessel had some major bleeding, but am alive. Surgeon recommmends recoup for six week, see onc znd go over option, chemo or radiation, any thought or anyone go thru aborted resection. Got stitches out Thurs. fell Fri, had some leakage but seem to be doing fine, just laying low this weekend. Still recovering from major surgery. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts...Pat

    Pat,
    I am sorry that the resection was not a go. It sounds like the surgeons made a hard but good decision. I hope they come up with a chem plan that will take care of the cancer. Praying your recovery goes well.

    So sorry you went through all that without getting the resection. But, they can shrink it with chemo so that is something to look forward to after your recovery from the surgery.
    Please take good care of yourself as you recover from it. I'm sure it's disappointing, but there are options out there.

    Feel sorry for the disappointment , praying for chemo
    shrinks it! I'm sure about!
