really need some motivation

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
hi all
its me again!!! since now the doc say that my dad cancer is secondary from his previous NPC which was dx in year 2005 i think i should move back to head and neck tread.. doc say not curable only can chemo to slow down it growth but we all know that as time goes by the body will start to resist chemo drug so bascially is the end... i really need some strong comment from all of you. every nite i been thinking about this issue and getting more n more depress.. anyone who have NPC which that met to lung and liver and manage to KILL the beast?? i know that in life everyone have to face such problem where yr loves one leaving us but i just cannot take it that it happen so soon.. my dad is only 58 this year.. i really hope he can survive another few years... will it happen?

    not the same for all
    Not everyone develops resistance to their chemo before the treatment is effective, and there are many chemos and other treatments to try. Also, you might look into natural methods of supporting the immune system and/or fighting the beast. You never know how things are going to go until they actually go there, so don't borrow trouble, my Mom always said.

    I just posted on the colon forum about a video of a little kid shouting a powerful motivational message that says the same...keep trying:

    There is a good comercial that says look on the bottom of your foot there is no time stamp there saying how long you will or will not live. I honestly believe a positive outlook goes a long way. Now i would be lying if i said i never got scared. I would look into all areas of prolonging my life as long as i could keep quality of life good. Look into cancer studies, also alternative medicine. I would find the best doctor i could also. God bless. David

    And good MD's....have you spoke to other medical professionals or another facility to see what their take is?

    There's always hope, faith and positive thought.

    Like mentioned, there are never any guarantees (one way or the other).

    Seek other options, doctors and facilities if needed.

    Fighting and believing are powerful medicine. The world is full of people who should have died along time ago. Your dad is already one of those. Be strong and love him hard. If you need counseling get it.
