Well Friday I'm having a flex sigmoid. Doctor wants to check the j-pouch out. Had a colonoscopy last June and that was normal. Thing is the price is about the same, but this one has no twilight sleep - but that never worked for me anyway. I'm paying for this procedure as my insurance won't. They don't pay for the upkeep. Please keep me in thoughts, prayers, wishes, etc. that all is normal. Maybe he can see far enough up to see if the buldge in my tummy (where my ileostomy was) is a hernia or not. I'll keep you informed. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the prep starts at 3:00. 4 dulcolax, mirlax cocktail. Yikes going to the bathroom 15-20 times a day already and now having to do this it will probably be 50 times tomorrow night. Well, I'll definitely be clean for the test on Friday :)

Hugs! Kim

    never had one, but...
I was supposed to have a flex sigmoid as follow-up after my colon surgery. It got delayed and the reschedule was set for Christmas Eve-eve and it ended up that the entire department canceled all appointments and took the day off...I guess so that they could have a longer weekend holiday? I didn't get the message and showed up at the hospital all cleaned out and ready to go :(

Anyways, the point I am getting around to is that they explained the procedure was about sticking a wand up my butt for a look-see to assure all was good. I don't think the wand is meant to go very deeply, thus no need for twilight sleep, perhaps?

    Did You Get Dr. "Ben-Dover?"
Zing - I know you got this one, Kim:)

Just funnin' with you, a little levity to lighten the moment, though you must be feeling pretty light about now after all that prep.

In all seriousness, best of luck and I'm sure all will be ok. Look forward to hearing the "all's well."

    Best wishes
I hope that all goes well with the scope on Friday. I had that when I was diagnosed and it was an easy procedure even without any meds.
