    taxol
I had 12 weeks of taxol ... and found it very doable. Lost my hair on day 14 ... had some rashes, constipation, fatigue .... but it was all manageable. Also had herceptin for a year ... and had no problems with that. They keep a close watch on your heart with that ... but ...through it all ... never ... EVER had any nausea or real discomfort.

    You'll do fine.

    hugs.

Same here, except I did AC
Same here, except I did AC before ( Red Devil ) before Taxol so I had already lost my hair. The Taxol was easier on me. However I had my good days and bad. The flu that never really goes away, but all doable. Did not have nausea discomfort. I did have meds for that just in case. I also did Herceptin for a year, no problem and they will watch your heart. The time will go faster than you think. Don't worry yourself to much. It's sounds scary, but it's really not. Keep positive thoughts and keep moving forward and it will be over before you know it. Just remember if you should have any discomfort tell your doctors, there is always something they can give you to help you along. Good luck

    taxol and heceptin
I had 12 weekly infusions of taxol with herceptin and have and am almost finished with my heceptin, 1 yr later. I tolerated the taxol much better than the AC (red devil). I never felt nausea and was even able to go back to work. I could not work during AC. The only experience I had was stomach problems, sever diarrhea if I ate too much or heavy meals. The herceptin is a breeze, they just make you get ecchos every 3 months to keep a watch on your heart.

Don;t worry, I am sure you will do fine......
good luck and all the best to you.

    hugs, Chris

I had 12 weekly Taxol treatments
and I was able to work part time throughout. For me, it was much easier than the FEC that I'm doing now.

No nausea, no pain, just some fatigue and quite do-able.

Wishing you the best with your treatment,

    Laura

    Taxol
Hi Elizabeth, I had 4 rounds of Taxol after AC, had a bit of the runs. little nausea, but not much and all in all, I was very scared after reading all about it on the internet. Gratefully none of what they described happened. It was easier than the AC that I had before. I was tired, but I could rest comfortably enough because there was so little nausea. You will be ok, this is one long journey, but it does come to a positive end. I have finished surgery and am setting up for Radiation now. Soon it will be a memory too. Just keep plugging along. You will get through it. You have all the strength you need. Any time you are worried about anything no matter the time of day or night, do call your Doctors. They are there for you too. And so are we. Cindy

    We are all different!
A/C wasn't bad for me. Was only a bit tired on 2 days but rest/nap took care of that. Taxol was a whole 'nuther story. I had 12 weekly Taxol and I was completely and utterly EXHAUSTED the entire time - rest did not help but could not sleep without Ambien - it was bad for me. I existed either on the couch or in bed. The 'good' part though was I had no pain or nausea just EXHAUSTION.

    Didn't do Herceptin.

    Yes
Adriamacin, the Red Devil. Aweful stuff. If you google "Red Devil" that is what comes up! Taxol was a breeze compared to that. Tired (still getting over the tired) and some numbness and tingling in the fingers and toes but that has resolved a while ago. My last treatment was 3-2-11. It goes by really quickly.

    Hi Eilzabeth,

I am having 3 types of chemo every Monday and one of them is herceptin. I don't know anything about Taxel and don't have a clue what A/C is. If you know what A/C is please let me know but most of all I just want to wish you luck on your treatments and you will be in my prayers like I pray for all the wonderful ladies on this board. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

    The Flu?
Are you talking about a cough, dry nose etc? I had 4 AC treatments and I'm on number 3 of my taxol/ herceptin shots and now have a cough....Was hoping it wouldnt interfere with my last chemo treatment!
