We now have hospice in and he is now on liquid morphine. He is hallucinating (kind of comically) and analyzing every commercial on tv. But at 7 pm tonight his left ankle started swelling. We have it propped up and he is watching the baseball game. His foot is not numb and I found out he is very ticklish. Anyone ever experience this?

He isn't taking any more radiation, taking a break besides he is done with the rad in 3 spots aiming for his back bone and burned his bone. That is the majority of the pain. When the pain subsides he thinks he is going to take himself back to radiation on his jaw. Still has the thrush and taking stuff for that. I made a spreadsheet that he has to follow on taking his medicine. He has agreed and we put it on the fridge. I didn't go to work today only to pick up my little paycheck. I missed the hospice nurse so I had to put a call into her. She was in a board meeting all afternoon in regards to my husband who just got it last night. They came right over after the oncologist called. Admitted him, got him his morphine and he ate two good meals today.

Thanks for listening, going to go and sit with my husband!

Bless you Kelly this is not a good time for you. Your attitude is wonderful and your sense of humour shines through your pain. I am glad to hear your hubby is eating and on morphine so I guess he is reasonably comfortable. Take care of Kelly too. Diane

    What an Awesome Wife
You are awesome Kelly. You sound like you are doing everything you can to make your sweet hubby comfortable. It is a lucky man to have you for his wife. I am so glad to hear that he was able to eat some good meals today and enjoy the ballgame. Take care.

    Kelly...
So sorry to hear about your husband's situation, I wish I had the words and wisdom to help you through this difficult and painful time. All I can say is be with him, love him and make memories that will last forever. Your strength amazes me.

Stay strong and remember to take care of yourself also.

Will keep you both in my prayers,
    Glenna
