After all this dr called today, abnormal pap

She said it's probably due to the chemo, but I'm so scared. Yesterday was my one year anniversary of my diagnosis. I feel like "here we go again!" My last pap was two years ago, since last year I was busy with treatment. I go tomorrow to get checked out and possibly get a biopsy. Been crying all morning. Saturday is my friend's funeral (he died of stomach cancer, diagnosed one month before me). I hope I can keep it together for that.

hang in there until you really know what's going on. I finished chemo in December 2010 and go for a PAP May 16th. Sometimes abnormal test results are wrong. I'm hoping that's the case for you. Sending positive thoughts your way.

    Jennifer, I had an abnormal
Jennifer, I had an abnormal pap once a few years back, before my breast cancer diagnosis. It turned out that it was from an improper scraping. I was also scared and certainly can relate to your despair after all you've already been through but as Char says try to hang in and take care of you. Will be thinking of you and sending caring hopes and thoughts.

Hang on!! I'll keep you in
Hang on!! I'll keep you in my prayers, and as the other ladies said, it could be nothing or the result of the toxic chemicals we've had in our bodies.

I've had paps that showed "abnormal cells" and have had a biopsy before too. Turned out to be nothing. Had another pap in 6 months and it was clear. My gyno said these things sometimes happen--can be due to a slight infection or unknown reason.

Hang in there--it's going to be okay.

I am sorry and I have to say
I am sorry and I have to say I understand how you feel, really! I was diagnosed with BC on 1/13, started chemo last Friday and found out the day before that I have a thickened uterine lining and the radiologist doesn't like what he sees. I haven't called my gyn back about mine yet because my mind can only handle so much at a time, but I need to. Good luck to you and I hope everything is GOOD!

I am so sorry about your friend. (((HUGS))) and prayers!

    Jennifer, I too have had
Jennifer, I too have had abnormal pap tests in the past and even had a biopsy done once and it came back negative. The funny thing is when I had a Pap smear done the same day I was diagnosed with my BC it came back normal and they were happy to report that too me. Go figure ... my only normal test in recent years came on the day when I needed to hear it most.

Silly tests.. stay strong and don't jump the gun.

Like many of the WARRIORS/Survivors that have posted .. I too, had an 'abnormal pap', 6 months ago and freaked out for weeks. My mind could not handle the thought of another battle. Now I am preparing to go back .. and hoping that it was a fluke! If not, I am 'NOW' prepared mentally for another challenge/fight.

Chemo does HORRIBLE things to our body, muscles, cells - brain. There is nothing known to mankind that provides concrete evidence on long term affects. We feel them, we live with them, and know that they are ever present.

Stay strong, and believe that your abnormal pap, is due to your chemo therapy.

Jennifer, try to think positive. I know this is scary, but, many have abnormal pap smears and then they turn out to be nothing. Unfortunately, it does happen.
