    Hi Gret
Hi Gret - I had daily pelvic radiation (IMRT, or Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy) for 6 weeks in 2010. Here's a website that explains it: http://www.radiologyinfo.org/en/info.cfm?pg=imrt

There are different types of radiation treatment, so yours might not be the same as I had. The radiation oncologist and his nurse should visit with you at length prior to the mapping session.

The radiation treatments I had were easy compared to chemo. My blood counts dropped some, and I occasionally felt tired. But I never had any nausea or pain. A few months after radiation ended, minor bowel issues cropped up, and I sometimes felt small cramping sensations in my pelvis. Overall, though, it was a piece of cake. (Other than the daily round-trip to the hospital!)

Have you already had debulking surgery and chemo? Do you have specific worries? I'm sorry you're stressed...very normal, but it will be okay. Please let me know what questions I can answer.

    Gret, Hello....
....I had 30 radiation treatments in Sept/Oct of last year. I had just finished six months of chemo also. My experience was similar to the last post in that I was tired and had a few bowel issues. The bowel issues were going more often and eyes watering up at the same time which I still experience but other than that, just tired. I didn't realize how tired I really was until a month after the treatments stopped. We all react differently to our treatments, please keep that in mind but it should be a piece of cake to be honest.

The worst part was having to travel for daily treatments in all honesty, pain in the butt!...hahaha.

    I hope this helped.
