The newlyweds are headed off to a honeymoon, when I was asked if I would babysit, I said of course, I was going on the assumption it was for 4 days. This is what they were discussing for two weeks. Turns out apparently, my son, said can you do the babysitting? and I said yes. He claims he said can you do the babysitting for a week, to which I replied yes, and then they booked the week long cruise. OMG!!! |

bonding
Think of the opportunity to bond with the little guy. I hope you and he will have a fabulous week! At nine months all he will really do is play, eat, sleep, poop and cry a little - funny, I just back to that stage myself - the circle of life!
Good vibes and prayers coming your way.

LOL Rick
You're right. I get him every night while their in college classes or at the gym. Just the all nighter thing is scary to me. What if I sleep too sound? What if he's awake all night? LOL, you're right about the play, eat, sleep, poop and cry a little. Although I've been teaching him how to say NO. I ask him, Did grandma do it? And then I answer, "no no no no no" for him. He shakes his head "no" right in unison with grandma, so we've got our backs covered.

However..... they are a blessing and mine keep me laughing.... my 5 year old granddaughter is the only one on the face of the earth that thinks I have big boobs!! LOL.... God love her! If you feel your sanity slipping away..call me...I'll slip with you! take care Dizz.......... Luv ya girlfriend!

LMAO
My son, at his wedding kept introducing me, as his mom and her two friends, he actually asked me, Mom did you have to bring your boobs along???
He's the one that told me to get a new bra, as he didn't want to be embarrassed by my boobs hanging down to my knees. Can't win. Wish they were nice and small and compact. I'll trade you!!! Posted a picture of me,my friends and my son at his wedding on my expression page.

Must be the smiling, huh! I love to dance, sing and just be myself, around the house. I can have my 100 year old Nana, cracking up!
The other day, I called an attorney on the phone, about a legal manner, in the conversation, I told him my age, and he said, "what! You don't sound or talk old!" Ha! HA, now that was a first and very funny!

Energy and good vibes
Dear Winter Marie,
I am amazed! Taking care of a 7 months old needs a lot of energy... I did that once for 4 days and I remember I was exhausted afterwards...
But the experience was fabulous! Babies are just adorable and cute!
Good luck to you and remember take enough rest for yourself!
Take care and lots of love

Sleep when the baby sleeps!
I know - at 9 months, he's probably sleeping through the night. I can't imagine you'd sleep through if he needs you. Borrow a baby monitor, if that will help, but you'll be slightly on edge while he's with you.
9 months - hmmm - cruising, if not yet walking. Watch out for all your little things! Grabby baby hands go far!
And have a wonderful time loving, tickling, nuzzling, playing with and kissing him!

Blessing
Winter,
I raised my youngest grandson from birth until about age 3(he's 16 now and 6 feet tall).
His mother thought motherhood ended when she got off the delivery table, so my son became a single parent. I was working full time and getting up every two hours in the night to feed and change him. Finally told my son that we needed to share this. He said "But Mom, you're used to it." I was around 50 at the time, and I told him "Not at this age, I'm not."
I can look back and laugh now. My grandson David is truly a blessing in disguise.
Enjoy. Have a wonderful time. You will do fine.

You'll be fine, and you'll LOVE all the special moments. I've been taking care of my 3 grandchildren (now 8, almost 4 and almost 2) since they were born, with a little side trip to "Cancerville" plopped down in the middle of all that.
You'll be tired, you'll feel a little awkward at first, but you WILL do great!
*hugs*

I have a 9 mos baby
so I know the work and joy that comes with it. If yours is like mine, he is probably crawing and on the move. My little guy goes everywhere I goes and eats everything on site. He doesn't care how long it has been on the floor. I guess he never heard of the 25 seconds rule.
Anyway, with the baby, you probably don't have time to go on this site often.
Happy sleep many rests.
