Dear EC discussion board friends,
I wanted to include all of you in our celebration of my dad's 1st anniversary in heaven. You have all been a part of our journey with EC. Thank you all for all of your help, your thoughts, and your many many prayers. Now, please pray for me and my mom, brother, and family as we conquer this week. I, myself am celebrating dad's anniversary, while my mom and brother are dwelling in his passing. Dear Heavenly Father give us the strength we need to get through this time, and please bless us and all of our csn friends. In Jesus' name, Amen. Dad...may you continue to rest in peace, We will see you again my friend, on the "Other Side." Peace to all.
Love Your Daughter,
Tina in Va

    much love to you all---

    much love to you all---
All I can think of is a book that I just finished called "Heaven is For Real". It is about a very young boy that had an "experience" in heaven during a surgery for a burst appendix. The amazing thing is, that he was so young when it happened he didn't actually have the language to describe it. Tidbits (that he couldn't have know before) came out over a period of a few years...

If offers much comfort---is a quick read, check it out on Amazon. Maybe your mom & brother & family would be comforted as well???

I can't believe it has already been 1 year. I am still struck by how hard this is on families, let alone patients. I think my dad may be thinking of his brother who passed after just 3 months past his EC diagnosis. that was 5/10... I hate that my dad has to go through this.

You & family will continue to be in my prayers

    Hi Tina,
    My thoughts and

    Hi Tina,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Isn't it wonderful when we know that someone we love has just went home, and are with the Lord waiting for us? For some, that promise still doesn't ease the hurt.
I have so many that have beat me home, and my comfort is knowing I'll see them again.
I pray for your mom, brother and family , for God to give them peace, and I celebrate the anniversary with you. What a time your dad is having! My prayer is for God to hold you all close and give each of you comfort during this time of rememberance.
    God Bless You, Sandra

    Dear Tina,
Anniversaries are all different for everyone. I will join you in praying for your Dad. He is looking down with love on all of you and would not want people to dwell on his passing but think how he is free of pain and at peace. I always used to light a candle on my Dad's going home date and talk to him, it made it better. prayers for all of you. take care,

    Prayers are with You Tina!
I'm sure it's a hard week for you and your family. They say the "firsts" are difficult for most everyone. Though you seem to have a very positive and eternal perspective, which always makes it easier, at least I think so! None the less, missing our loved ones here on earth is something that we'll always have to work through. We're only human after all. BUT, the hope and truth that you will one day seem him and the fact that he is having the time of his "other" life and in no more pain, is something to celebrate! :)

Today is exactly 3 weeks since my dad passed. It's still very surreal and I think I'm in still somewhat of shock, fog, denial...whatever you want to call it. My brain knows he's gone, but there is some disconnect somewhere. I just can't seem to full yet realize I won't see or talk to him again. I'm doing ok. What's harder for me than dealing with my own pain is seeing my mother go through her grief. She is so lost, so alone and is just fighting so hard to "keep it together." I know she will be alright eventually, but it's just so painful to watch.

Anyway...I will continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate, mourn, laugh and cry in memory of your beloved father:)

    Blessings,
    Sally
