Free Wigs to a good home!

Hi everyone, my best friend Cheryl passed away 18 months ago from colorectal cancer with metastasis to the liver and lungs. It was a terrible and devastating blow to her beloved husband and children. She had just turned 50.

So next weekend i am going to Oklahoma to help Paul take the final step of gathering Cheryl's special items and donating them where they will be of most use. Cheryl had several gorgeous very high end wigs and Paul would like to donate them to someone who really needs them and would use them. They are very gently worn and since Cheryl was very meticulous about taking care of her things they are almost brand new.

I will be there next Friday evening and will take some pictures, but in the meantime, if you are interested, please email me or post a response directly onto here and I will get back to you when I get back from Oklahoma.

Please only serious inquiries.

Thanks and God bless!

    cancer center
The cancer center I go to for my treatments has "salon" where they have a selection of wigs that are free to the patients. You might check yours and see if they have one as well. Also, your insurance should help pay for a wig. Also ...sorry, thought of something else, there is a section where volunteers make beautiful caps and scarfs for cancer patients to go through! Good luck!

    how would we do this
hello my name is Patsy i was dx in june with rectal cancer i was only 29 which was a big shock to me but the bigger shock was to find it had spread to my liver and lungs and some node involvement.I am fighting with my insurance just to cover my chemo so i know they will not cover my wig after i asked them yesterday and she goes well you have not even lost your hair yet why do you need a wig.If you message me privately or on this i could get my number and we could discuss me having one i will start chemo soon and i will lose the rest of my hair this time because the doses are a lot higher then the last.I can not thank you enough for doing this it will make me or someone else very happy.

    OLD THREAD
This thread is not current - look at the YEAR of the original post.

Check out the link for "Look Good...Feel Better" to the left on this page. It is a program sponsored by the American Cancer Society (you are on their Cancer Survivor Network Forums here). They offer free wigs with their sessions including free make-up and often information on hats and scarves and how to tie them.

Usually insurance will pay for a wig - but you do need to lose your hair before they will pay for one.
