Drainage

The drain was removed on Wednesday, hole healed nicely, then woke this morning to a very wet behind.

Assumed the drain hole had re-opened, but it turns out to be coming from somewhere between the cheeks. Spoke to the surgeon on call and was assured it was nothing to worry about. So we went to the local medical supply store and bought absorbent pads (6), surgical undies, mattress protector and other sundries. Now down to four pads. Oddly enough, I am feeling better today?

Getting ready for bed I put in a fresh pad, then stuffed up with disposable washcloths that I liberated from the hospital so my spouse would think I had butt cheeks. ;)

Now, cancer, surgery, fluid leakage... This must bode well for the Steelers, given the number of medical facilities in Pittsburgh! Time to call my bookie!

:-)

    Keep on smiling
Glad that you got that smile back.

Also glad you are feeling better.

Hope that the drainage is a temp situation.

    Drainage is good.
You dont want the butt to heal up with all that fluid in there. It will only cause problems later. The fluid can become an abcess or an infection (happened to me Had to be punctured many times to remove it, No Fun Trust me) it needs to drain.

Thats the drainage I talked about.......
when I leaned over one day and it felt as if I had pissed my pants...It was all that fluid buildup that had no where to go...and when it finally did release all the pressure was gone and so was all the pain.........so heck yeah the fluid drainage even if messy sure will make ya feel better...........Buzz

    Something else I just remembered:
you might suddenly feel like you're gonna do things like you used to but you're not....like a person who's had a limb amputated still feels that arm or leg for a while, you might feel like you're going to fart or **** out the back--its that sort of feeling you might get as you heal....

Buzz, First thing I thought of
Was you and that story, one of the reasons I did not call for an ambulance!

    Ghost limb
    Yep, I get that.

Mostly when I pee, but it seems to be worse if I am constipated.

I also now have a clue of what menopause is like, with frequent hot flashes.

And a sample of the monthly gift ;-) all at the same time.
