What do you Enjoy doing
For me it is two things.
First: when I get to go home to Utila, normally now it is only on vacation. but when I do I love walking in my brothers botanical garden and being able to eat the fruit right off the tree, makes me home sick just thinking about it.
Second: I love being in my work shop in the back yard, for me I find time alone there and keeping myself busy keeps me out of trouble.
Anyone else has something that you enjoy doing that you would like to share?

My trail-riding mules
I got myself through treatment by telling myself that I would be back up in the high country riding again. Sure enough, two weeks out from end of radiation, and the family put me and my feeding tube into the camper and hauled me over Tioga Pass to Bishop Mule Days. Two months after treatment, they took me up to the Emigrant Wilderness for our Horsemen's group annual (two-week) High Sierra Ride and campout.
Bishop was where I figured out I was no longer a chemo sickie, and I didn't need to use the feeding pump to get Jevity into my feeding tube. A syringe was fine. And I started drinking Ensure again-painful but way less messy. I was very motivated to have the feeding tube gone before the High Ride, and the rest was history.
My happy place under the radiation mask was visiting the Bennett Juniper, an energetic day-long mule ride out from camp. By the end of the two weeks, I was able to do the ride. My profile picture was taken on that same trip, riding over Eagle Pass to Cooper Meadow, just outside the Emigrant Wilderness. It's good to have goals!

A very nice thread

Very nice thread to start. It may sound goofy, but I try not to plan the day, except for Doctor's appointments. I try and enjoy each day as it comes. I do like to tinker around the house, little projects. I don't tackle the bigger ones like I did in the past. Recently, in the Fall, I had my Brother-in-Law re-deck our Deck that I built 20 years ago. I stayed in the shade and talked with him and kept him company.
Yes, little things that we once breezed by now are noticable and we enjoy the smell of the flowers and fresh air. The little things that once upset us are not a big problem any longer. I enjoy helping out the Marine Corps League when I can. Toys 4 Tots and things like that. Helping some of the neighbors if they have a home repair problem when I can. Each day is a Gift.

I too believe that there is nothing better then getting back to doing the things we loved to do before this C stuff ever happened. Keeping positive and in a good state of mind I believe keeps us healthy.
If I am ever up that way I will look you up for a ride through some of those places

Well, I like spending my days with my dog, Noah. (aka Nizzy). He is a hairless Chinese Crested. Yes, my naked dog is the only man in my life. Lol.
I love to cook. Trying to get back into it. Trying to develop recipes that are easy to swallow, chock full of nutrition and easy for a cancer patient and survivors to make. Thinking about putting out a possible cook book.
I have been going to a yoga class (Monday night), I also have really been enjoying learning how to belly dance and taking that class as well. (Tuesday night.) That's about all I have the energy for right now. I am hoping to get back into doing mixed media art. I have thousands of rubber stamps and scrapbooking stuff I would love to be creating stuff with.
I also read a lot. Books and magazines about science and astronomy. I also have a telescope I drag out once in a while. Weighs as much as I do right now, it feels like. Lol.0 -

Fishing & Wildlife Art
Most all of you know my passion is fishing...nearly a day out of each week-end. Mainly saltwater, but I do freshwater fish during the cooler months. I have a HEWES Redfisher (boat), and I love getting out on the water....it's my time. I still get excited like when I was a small kid. The closer I get to the water and fishing, the more hyped up I get.
My other love is art, mainly wildlife art, representation and highly detailed. Primarily working in acrylics, but I do like prismacolor pencils. I have done a lot of portraits in the prismacolor. They lend themselves well for portraits on canson mi'tientis paper.
I have a few pieces displaced in my expressions pages...

I am with you on fishing but I just don’t get the chance to do any more and with my eye sight going I may never do it again. I also forgot scuba diving something else I love but will never be able to do again.

It is nice to read posts about the happier things in life. Buzz and I are avid geocachers! Just before he started treatment in September, we reached our goal of 5000 finds and ranked 7th in the state of New Mexico. If you haven't heard of Geocaching, it is a high tech treasure hunt using a gps to locate hidden items. The items vary in size from a tiny magnetic "button" to a large ammo can. All caches (no matter how tiny) have a log book (a tiny strip of paper in the case of the button-sized cache). The finder logs in the book and online. The site (www.geocaching.com) keeps track of all activity. We have hidden 181 caches and most are still active. Buzz has little stamina right now but we are anxious to get back to our passion. BTW we have social gatherings called "Events" also.0 -

Did buy a PT Cruiser awhile back, and do enjoy driving it around. The C thing has definitely changed my appreciation of God's Earth and all the beauty, and seeing it is cool. And yes, I do love the snow sights of the upper midwest.

Well Hondo, I finally have something to write about. Like many, this dry out condition has converted me basically to an indoor type. My garden is gone and I have problems cutting the grass. Maybe I’ll get a goat.:)
I really enjoyed being heavily involved with veteran activities, but am slowing down. Well, can’t help it since I am probably the oldest person in this forum.:) I enjoy bowling Friday mornings with the senior folks as compared to 3-4 nights a week during my younger years.
My biggest enjoyment had been going to Las Vegas about 3 times a year. The excitement is gone, but we will still go at least twice a year. Some of my family/friends know why I eat mostly at the buffets. Mahalo and Aloha!0 -

At one time in my life I was a diesel engine Mechanic, I also worked as an Electrician for Swifeships many years ago. Now in my shop I like small projects that keep what is left of my mind busy. I repair things like my Grandson Go Cart and my daughter refrigerator when they brake; it feels good to be able to just do something I use love to do again.0 -
