Dear Dental Professionals,

April is approaching fast and during this month, multiple foundations, charities, teaching institutions, and treatment facilities are undertaking a national cooperative effort to raise oral head and neck cancer awareness. For 2011, we are going to extra mile to reach out to more dental professionals than ever before! From April 11th-15th, Dental Offices and Medical centers from all over will offer Free Oral Cancer Screenings. With Social Media as our platform, we would like to invite ALL Dentists and Hygienists to get involved with 2011’s Oral Cancer Awareness week.

It's easy to get involved! Just contact our office to sign up or sign up yourself on our website. We're already starting to receive screening events from Dental offices all over the country. This is a great way to help out your local community for early detection of oral cancers and also receive new patients. And when you sign up to participate in April's oral cancer awareness month, we will send your office educational brochures to hand out to your patients, buttons for your staff to wear and screening referral forms, at no cost to you. To sign-up your office online, visit: http://www.oralcancer-screening.org/events/index.php?com=searchresult&r=0&e=12/31/2011&k=&t=1 , or contact OCF at (949) 646-8000

Part of our mission at OCF is to raise awareness in the public about oral cancer, and to instill in them the knowledge that an annual OC screening is a dental visit that is non negotiable. As you are well aware, the dental communities are the first line of defense against oral cancer, through the process of early discovery. Because oral cancer is on the rise, screenings to discover any potentially dangerous conditions in your mouth is of the upmost importance. The quickest growing division of the oral cancer community is young, healthy, non-smokers due to the connection to the HPV #16 virus.

For all that we do on a national level, it is only through partnerships with involved individuals such as yourselves, that we will make progress. We cannot do this without you. If you would like to get involved with Oral Cancer Awareness week contact the Oral Cancer Foundation today! We will provide participating centers & offices with literature on oral cancer, buttons for your staff, wristbands & more! In addition, you can feature your screening event directly on the OCF website, found here: http://www.oralcancer-screening.org/events/

We look forward to developing a fruitful and long-lasing relationship with you.

Thank you,

Megan Cannon

    Oral cancer screening
Our dentist does oral cancer screening but missed Buzz's base of tongue cancer. He has a special little light which is supposed to illuminate oral cancer. I don't think it works.
