Sending positive thoughts & prayers your way!
Hang in there. Hopefully, the rads won't be too bad for you. Just think of it as another way to keep this ugly beast away! Sending you a big cyber hug.

    All treatments are scary
All treatments are scary especially before we have begun them. Anticipation can be so hard. I will pray that your rad treatment will be as easy as mine was. I was very fortunate not to burn at all, just a little browning, and not much fatigue. Many factors affect our reaction to radiation treatment. Prior treatment can be a big factor in fatigue but some have had lots of fatigue without having had chemo. Others have little fatigue. Burning is another area that varies widely. Be sure and use whatever they recommend and use it from the start. If you have any burning issues bring it up right away. Your best weapon in treatments can often be your mouth. Speak up and ask questions. I will keep you in my prayers that you have little to no problems with this. We are here to answer questions and to just give you support.

    Being scared is natural, I
Being scared is natural, I was a wreck before each new step, from surgery to chemo to rads to Femara. Please know that although we are all difference rads was not all that bad. Your doctor will tell you how to care for your skin, etc. and if you have any questions, please refer to this board. I wouldn't have made it without these folks. Best wishes and warmest thoughts to you.

    You will make
it through this. Just take one day at a time. I was scared too before I started rads. Once you get going you will be done before you know it. We will all be there with you.

    Anxiety - BIG no, no
    Please,

try not to big scared. Dig deep, use every ounce of courage that
you can find. Being scared will just stress you unnecessarily and
that's the last thing you need - Stress, am I right?

You WILL get through this, just remind yourself of this. It's part
of your treatment, and we will all hold your hand throughout it all.

    Sending you BIIIIIG, big hugs,

    Ayse

    Not knowing how the
treatment is causes anxiety beacuse you just don't know WHAT to expect. I found rads not as difficult as Chemo. You'll be okay. Right now it's in front of you but soon it will be a thing of the past.

    Praying for you,

    Sylvia

When I start to worry about
When I start to worry about an upcoming treatment, I look at back at what I've gone through. It's just my way of reminding myself that I can accomplish whatever I set my mind to...I'm pretty stubborn that way. Then I gather as much information as I can, I figure knowledge is power. (I've seen lots of postings here that describe radiation treatments.)

Finally, it often helps to tell the doc how you're feeling about a procedure or treatment. I've found that if they know I'm nervous (or whatever) that they slow down a little and explain more.

I hope everything goes well on Wed. You'll be in my thoughts.

    Hugs,

    Linda

    Don't be afraid of rads.
Don't be afraid of rads. You are killing stray cancer cells, and, that is good!

    We understand, we sure do
I had a wonderful rads team, I'm sure you will too. The anticipation is the worse. Once there you will calm down. Going thru chemo is worse. Before you know it you will be done. You will do good, and come thru. I am wishing you the best.

    At my 1st appointment
I sat and cried to the nurse! It is okay not to be strong, there will be people around you to be strong for you. I tried to be strong but I just couldn't do it, even with my husband there to help me through it I broke down. There are wonderful people in our cancer journey! Marianne
