Hello all,

I saw my oncologist monday jan 3. She informed me the NHL is gone. The results of the pet scan I had on dec 29, 2010 was negative. 3rd scan that was negative. My small bowel perforated in sept 2009 from NHL. My small bowel was resected and most likely all cancer cells were removed. I then had only 4 weeks of rituxan once weekly in dec 2009. Since my sub-type is or was extranodal marginal zone B cell lymphoma, I will not need maintance of rituxan. She told me it is not likely to return, but if it does it would be in 4 or 5 years, I then would be treated with rituxan only.

I want all of you to know, I will travel with all of you through your journey each day. I will not forget any of you. Each post I read I will say a prayer in your name.

To my family may this year be better, and all the years to follow. Molly

    still scared
I will always be around this site. I gotta check on you guys. When I first connected to this site, I had so many questions. You were all there for me. Actually I find this site better than most. All of you seem so connected to each other. Of course there is hope for all of us. Some just have a more difficult road to travel. Just give all of us the strengh not to give up.

I forgot to mention, I go back in may 2011 for blood tests, no scans. The oncologist told me they can check the blood for any changes including bone marrow involvement. Never heard of that. The down side, I have other problems that took the joy out of my good news. The exact words were: There is mild patchy FDG around the right hip where there severe fibrocyatic changes in the femoral head and posterior column of the acetabulum likely due to degenerative changes. I never had hip problems until I had the bone marrow biopsy. My right knee bothered me, not my hip. Is it possible a bone marrow biopsy can cause problems. I asked the nurse, and she said no. Another question, what does FDG avid disease stand for?

Sue, I will post my second paragraph. Blessings to all of us Maggie

    Good news for now
Great to hear good news - one day at a time. I know that feeling - what is next? Knowing that I am in remission, I still have to go thru treatments to finish then tests later - no fun! I am so glad to hear your good news for now.

    All the best,
    Liz
