I know I haven't been here in quite a while. I do keep all of you in my prayers. I want to wish you all a very Blessed Christmas and Happy Healthy New Year!

We just got an amazing phone call this morning that I wanted to share. My husband was diagnosed in June 2010 with stage IV EC with mets to his bones (spine and some ribs). He began chemo and had 14 radiation treatments to his spine in July. He began to respond immediately, as far as his pain disappeared completely. He had a pet scan in Sept which showed that he was responding to the treatment. All of the lesions in the bone were shrunken and some disappeaed completely. The original tumor had decreased in size significantly! The oncologist's plan was to continue the same drugs, but reduced the dosages.

Last Monday he had another scan which had not changed, but showed some inflammation (possibly) in his esophagus and one slightly enlarged lymph node. The next step was a repeat endoscopy, which was this past Monday. The Dr. who did the EGD said everything looked much, much, much, much better than back in June. He prescribed prevacid for reflux and his impression was esophagitis. He took many biopsies.

His nurse called this morning to report there was no cancer detected! The lymph node was probably reacting to the inflammation, according to the oncologist. His plan is to continue with the same chemo, but can again reduce the dosage.

Prayer really does work! This Christmas, we have received the gift of time. Please don't ever give up! The Lord really does hear our prayers!

We are waiting for our 16yo son to get home from school to tell him the news! Thank you all for your support and prayers! You are always in ours!

Liz, Tom & family
