I am one those people that runs on pure gut feel

Guys, I have always run my life on pure gut feel. Hell, I even asked the scary old woman to marry me on the second date. Damned if she did not say yes on the third.
4 months later that project was done.

The first time I saw the brain doc, he a projected a sense of urgency about getting this damn tumor out of my brain. Remember the country doc said it looks and acts like a benign tumor like Pat’s mother had. From what my pure gut feel is telling me, the country doc is right. (My bet is the country doc can also fix tractors.)

Now that same brain doc (could not even start a tractor) says it is too damn big to burn out or cut out. So the plan is to just cook it a little with radiation. This should just shrink it enough to keep me going and not have the brain seizures from the pressure it’s putting on my brain stem. It is getting a little crowded in there. Then hopefully I can get off these damn anti seizure drugs as they make chemo brain look/feel good.

Now the down side. We had a fantastic thanksgiving with all our family here overnight. My oldest son was talking to his mother last night and made the comment how mellow I was during their stay. He said “damn mom, are you sure you want to get that tumor out.” Ah the wisdom of youth.

Bottom line is Friday at noon I get this damn bag the hell off my belly. Then they want me to wait until I heal up. That will take a week as I have firewood that needs to get cut for next year. Oh I might crap in my pants a few times, but been there done that. Then I will get my brain tumor rotisserized. My gut feel says, at my age, less is best.

    Good luck with the reconnect
Hoping all goes well with the reconnect on Friday. Knowing you, you will be up and around giving them what for long before they think you will.

You may want to take it easy for a little longer than a week...don't want to undo all the good work they are doing on your belly.

    Wishing you the speediest recovery.

    Kerry, once again....
You are, without a doubt, a crazy old coot!!!

I'm sending good vibes for both the 'reconnect' and the 'rotisserie'....

Your reference to the tractor fixing....but can he fix a splitter? THAT's the BIG question!!!

    Hugs, Kathi

    Hey Darlin!
Kerry....... Appreciate the morning laugh! You got a hat collection??? Somethin tells me you do... even tho all I ever see is the Kubota one. Good luck on getting replumbed! What kind of seizure drugs they got you on? For many years I took Dilantin & Depakote. Chemo did not mix with those so they changed me to Keppra. It was a great trade off. Went from taking 80 pills a week to 14. I have generalized tonic clonic seizures but meds control it and I have been seizure free for 16 years now. Mine was caused from head trauma in a car accident when I was 15. Anyway... I can relate to the head fog from those meds! Did or do you suffer from any vision loss due to that tumor? Do you gun and bow hunt? Hubby does both AND black powder. You take care!

    Hi Kerry,

Hoping for the best with the waiting and wood chopping this week & then, of course, for the "rotisserizing".
Keep the humor but mellow out for your boy :)

Hey Kerry - This sounds like
Hey Kerry - This sounds like a good plan. Let's get that tumor shrunk.

Good luck on Friday. I know you really want that bag off of you. Yeah - crapping your pants ain't new. I remember the story of how you were in the woods sawing wood, started crapping and ran into the house. But the whole way your dog thought you were playing a fun game of tug of war with your pants. Damn that was funny.

    Take care - many sparks

    IMRT
    Hey Kerry

Keep the IMRT radiation as an option - that was the post I sent you a couple of weeks ago. I'll be curious as to which way they decide to go with you.

I'll be following you closely, whether you want me to or not, LOL:)

Since I had my cancer metastasize several years ago, I've worried about the brain...know it's rare, but it does happen. I worry about how that would be treated. I wish you did ot have to do this, but just wanted to let you know that I find it courageous and brave to be tackling this. Know you do whatcha' gotta' do, but still...

Wishing you only success! And congrats on getting the bag removed!

    Kerry -
Wishing you nothing but the best that the reversal goes well and you are out of that hospital quickly and back home giving that scary old woman grief, it will be music to her ears.

    Looking forward to hearing
All about the bag removal and life with sharts afterwards. It's a good thing you have lots of outsisde projects to get you through after surgery. I hope they are able to get that brain thing under control so you don't have to take the mellow meds anymore more. I know you don't like them. Here's to John Deeres and bag removals!

BTW the first motorized contraption I ever drove was a John Deere while sitting on my granddaddy's lap.

maybe you can chop in the nude but be careful
    Kerry,

Me too!!! "I am one those people that runs on pure gut feel" what a great description.

Goodluck with the reconnect. I'll hopefully be doing my reconnect in 5 to 6 months after chemo finished.

Woodchopping that sounds like fun. I'll ask my physio about that next visit.
I love woodfires , its what I love best going to my friends farm in the country in winter.

Seriously you should have a shovel next to your axe just in case.

goodluck but you probably won't need it. your light hearted view inspired me.

    Kerry,

Good luck with the reversal and getting rid of the damn bag, Upside is no more waking up in the middle of the night to a $h*t storm. Downside is now you wont always have a bag of Poo handy to fling at somebody. Seriously though, I hope it all goes well and then you can tackle the brain tumor.
