Just got back from a visit with my oncologist. It would be a follow up from the colonoscopy and the PET I had done a month ago. The lesion at the rectal junction tested positive for cancer, so I will be meeting with a radio on the 30th. We are expecting treatments to help with the pain. I got a new longer lasting pain pill, as well as an increase in dosage, so this should help tremendously on that front as well. I'm very hopeful that we will be able to get this stuff back under control. I will also be discussing going after some of the lymph nodes as well. I'll let you guys know when I know more! I'm showing anemic, which I'm not surprised since there's been bleeding from that lesion, so I will be getting iron IV to help with that. All in all, it was a good visit.

Glad that you are able to get something stronger for all the pain you have been going through. If that new dose doesn't work, call back and get something bigger and better. You have been dealing with this for a while and by now you need some relief. Glad your visit went good.

    Glad you have a plan
Sorry to here about the positive test.

It is good that you got something new for the pain. Hopefully it will take care of it until the other treatment can do its job.

Prayers are with you for success.

    Mary:(
Son of a gun - that's the news you want at the holiday, or anytime for that matter. As always, it sounds like your plan is in place and I'm wishing you all the best. Hope the new pain plan works for you too, the least you could expect is to have some relief.

You are handling things so well - you, Phil, and myself are in the "6-Year Plus Club." There's not too many members of this club, which is understandable as the "DUES" are quite a high price to pay:)

Keepin' up with you as best I can.

Mary , l hope they find the solution for your pain, I'm sure
they will! Concerning nodes are they local or distant nodes, do they consider as a met or just local nodes?.
In my hospital there are quite a few colleges with mets to distant lymph nodes successfully treated with radio as l am!
    Hugs!

6-year plus club dues are now due!
Thank you for your comments, I'm sure this will give me some relief, so while it would be better to have heard not cancer, I knew it would be otherwise; no other reason for the lesion or "ulcer" not to be healing! High price indeed! We keep on fighting, though, and thankful for the opportunity to fight!

    nodes
since my initial diagnosis was back in 2004, and I have actually had minor time dancing with NED, these are definitely mets. I'm determined to attack to the best of my ability, along with my team, so watch out! Thank you for checking up on me, Pepe, I appreciate it! I hope you are doing well and that your wife returns soon!

    Hi Mary
I tried to reply to this earlier and the site was slowed down....happens frequently lately. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you how much I admire your courage and strength.I haven't had to go through some of the things some of you all have, but I pray that I will carry myself with the same graciousness if I do.

Good luck and prayers to you.

    Mary, sorry for that news,
Mary, sorry for that news, but contrats on the positive take on it!! People like you who keep fighting is what keeps me coming back here. Sometimes I think reading all of this makes me focus on cancer just to much, but what it really does is encourgage me on days I am down. Best to you. Jean

    Hi Mary
I'm glad you have your answer, new meeds and a plan. I think just knowing helps us. I love to read the hope in your words. Well seasoned and wise. Thank you for helping me as well. I had the third drain today but this girl was so thorough. She had me turning every which a way and there was nothing left when I walked out of there. I also started the Xelox today and am hoping it will slow the fluid production.

    Keep us posted.
