Just wanted to let everyone know that Lisa13Q and I had the chance to actually meet in person yesterday in the waiting room of the chemotherapy center. Our visit was brief, just a few minutes long. I could have stayed there all day talking!!! Hopefully we will have our visits cross paths again so we can meet.

Best of luck to your family, Lisa!!

    Hi Nancy,
you are lucky to meet Lisa13Q. I wish I could meet just 1 person from the ovarian cancer board. I wish we could all get together at some mountain retreat during the summer and talk and laugh and drink wine and just have a good time. It would be something to be in a whole room with people just like us. We would all understand each other. Sigh. Paula

It was so wonderful to meet you even though the news sucked!!
    Hi Nancy,

It was so wonderful to have someone to hug yesterday!! You are more beautiful in person than in your pictures/ I'm sorry I had to run so fast, but you know how that goes. I hope your meeting went better than ours. I did look for you afterwards, but you were probably in your appointment....It's embedded in her liver and they are putting her on PARP Inhibitor but I am not optimistic. I have had some great conversations with her and am now at the airport heading home. I will be going out again on December 3rd to take her to FL. She is now aware that this beast is going to catch up to her but she is determined to fight until the end...I wich I coul have each of you here to hug right now. I am sitting in Chicago O'Hare in tears. I had to buy pair of sunglasses and the flight attendant from NY to Chicago gave me a box of kleenex. He was very kind and I wrote up a compliment ticket for him...I think it is good that my Mother and I can discuss this so openly. My poor sister threw up in our meeting and sobbed. Thank God for this board, and Nancy it meant so much to have a person yesterday as brief as it was. Here's praying that you got better news!! Much Love and affection, Lisa

    so sorry!
It IS a heartbreaking disease. You looked upset when I saw you but I didn't realize the extent of the bad news. In the midst of this news, thank you for taking the time to look for me. Are the doctors hopeful? I find that they are intentionally vague. I guess they don't know what will work. I keep thinking of the story Susan523 tells and I hold onto hope. I remember her once saying that she thought she was on the brink of death. She thought she was dying and they gave her Avastin. She credits the Avastin with extending her life.

I've been dealing with an increase in GI symptoms and it scares me. The doctor can't say if it is the chemo or the cancer. I am due to scan in about 5 weeks and he wants to hold out onto then, if possible. I realize if it is the cancer and they can't find anything to slow it down I am doomed! End of life OVCA can be physically painful as well as emotionally.

    sorry to hear
    Sister Lisa,
I'm so sorry to hear how this week played out. But I gotta tell you, a friend of Mom's has inoperable mets to her liver, and you'd never know it. She's been getting on fine for over a year since then...

Once when I was flying home crying, a flight attendant gave me wine!

These are tough times, but we will all get through it. Mom is up up up on steroids, but thank God her pain is under control. Setbacks on the horizon, but today is good.
