I, like Traci, am having 'scanxiety'. Today is my 1 yr cancerversary and tomorrow my 2nd mammogram. The weight of the world, it seems, is on my shoulders.

So, 11:30 tomorrow hold your breath and squeeze my hand.

Thank you!

Sue

    I think
I have never had a reason to join AA, so I don't really know whereof I speak, so I hope I don't offend, but I think of being a survivor of bc like being a survivor of alchoholism when it comes to the fear of "the return of the beast". Sometimes you have to take it moment by moment. The Drs. have told me they cannot find cancer, so for now, I am going to live like I am cancer free.

    Maybe that's helpful. seof

The last time I saw my
The last time I saw my oncologist, and they took me in for vitals, I "demanded" the RN take 3 pounds off of my weight. When he wanted to know why, I happily explained that carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders ( as you are doing now) weighs AT LEAST 3 pounds! He actually took 3 pounds off of my weight and my oncologist was happy and none the wiser!

I am sure that your scan will be just fine~ and as soon as you walk out, you will weigh 3 pounds less! Win-win!

You all worked so hard in my behalf,
And it worked!!! My anxiety peaked at the center. New digital mammo's - 2 weeks old - my tech seemed so unsure. I was 'silently' freaking out. Then she asked for help and I felt much relief.

I met a sister warrior there - an 8 yr survivor. She was so very comforting. She told me after the 2nd yr, you become less anxious. Then I got 'the all clear' and she was told to wait. So, I waited with her. We had a few cookies and chatted. She got the all clear, too. We hugged and congratulated each other.

Thank you all so much! I just can't begin to tell you how much you all mean to me. There are times I just can't contribute, but I check every day and always wish and hope and pray for all of you.

    YAY SUE!
So glad you, Nancy and I can all celebrate clean mammograms this week -- it's so important to share and celebrate good news when we can!

And how kind of you to wait with the woman you met there -- I hope you told her that the reason she was feeling a little squished sitting there waiting is that we were all in there with her, too!

(I'll be honest, though -- I was a little offended that neither of you offered us any cookies.)

    Sue,
    So happy all was good

    Sue,
So happy all was good and NED is here. And how sweet to sit with the other lady and wait until she had her good news. Yay!!
I enjoyed the cookies too. Not sure why Traci didn't get any but maybe she is not as bold as I am. I just helped myself. Hope that was okay.
And again, so happy for the good, good news.

    So, in other words...
...because Stef was raised in a barn and is just pushy, whereas I have manners and couth...she got cookies, and I didn't!

[raising nose in air, looking away] That's all right, I didn't want any anyway...watching my figure....

    Traci,
    Who let the cat out

    Traci,
Who let the cat out of the bag about my being born in a barn. Gosh, is nothing private? I am truly sorry that you missed out on the cookies but pleased you are weight conscious. Maybe next time I will share with you. LOL
