edited March 2014 in Ovarian Cancer #1
Today a friend of mine died of cancer after a short 18 month battle. She is the married mother of 3 young girls 2, 4 and 6. She was 37yrs old. She did not have ovarian cancer. She had cancer of 'unknown origin' and was treated aggressively at MD Anderson. Although we never met in person we chatted online and via telephone. We met on CSN when I was searching for other young Moms with cancer. My heart is broken for her and her family. Just thought I'd vent my feelings here.

    MY CONDOLENCES
So sorry to hear this, Nancy. As we all know from our connection to Bonnie, it doesn't matter whether you have met in person or not. We all develop a bond that is beyond words. And we grieve when we lose our 'friend'. I will pray for this young mother's family and children. How tragic, especially to not really know the origin of her cancer. My heart goes out to everyone.

    Luv, hugs and prayers,
    Monika

    Oh Nancy,
I'm so sorry. It always breaks my heart when I think of the little ones left behind. And, of-course triggers our own issues of leaving our kids behind.
    Praying for you today, Nancy❥

    ((((Nancy))))
It never gets any easier. So easy to understand how people can get bitter when life is this unfair, and so hard to see God's plan in things like this. I have no words of comfort to offer, Nancy, just my sympathy and shared distress. I worry that my faith won't stand up to these repeated tests of it in the same rock-solid way that Bonnie exemplified. I am pretty good at leaving my own cancer journey in God's hands, for that's all i know to do; "trust and obey". But I am shaken each time I hear news like this and will need to pray on that even as I pray for that young family. I hate cancer.

    So sorry
Nancy, I am so sorry. I read your post and then I reread it again. It just makes me sick to think of that young lady, her spouse and her three children. I am glad that you were able to be her friend. But I also know how hard it is for you. Two weeks ago was horrible for me... I went to 3 funerals. A young man (22), a friend from high school, and one of my best friends. They weren't from cancer but it sure did hit me awfully hard.

I am praying for the family of your friend and also for you.

    Take Care
    Linda

    Vent
This is the place to vent for sure. I am so sorry to hear this. Cancer sucks and it especially sucks when it happens to young people, and the fact that she had young children at home makes it all that much suckier.... (is that a word?) My heard goes out to her family and her friends.

It's so hard to see someone so young and with children die from anything. My prayers go out to her family.

I'm so sorry for the loss of another promising life.

I tell you cancer is one of the most indiscriminate and unfair diseases I know.

To have been soooo young and leave behind her babies...I hate cancer! ! !
