How long have you survived??

Saw this on the throat and head cancer board and thought it would be nice if we did a roll call of sorts saying our survival time since we were diagnosed with EC. If you want include your initial staging. Just to give hope for all of us:
Mine is 15 months from my dx in 7/09 and was staged at T3N1MO and now they say stage II.

    Hi William,
    loved your reply and poem and it is pretty funny. How happy to see how long people can survive and knowing some have had a much harder time getting where they are now. By the way, William I am 66 my 70 in my name is for the year my son Michael was born one of my happiest days of my life. We are all survivors. How great is this board for all the support and advice we have shared here to help us survive even longer and better. take care,

    My husband was diagnosed
    My husband was diagnosed with T3N1M0 in February 2009. He had chemo, radiation and the Ivor Lewis surgery on 9-16-2009. We are still on quarterly re-checks hoping to go to bi annual after October's scan and Dr. Appt. It has been a long but incredible journey and wish I had found this site when we were in the midst of the battle but I discovered site when looking up lung cancer for my father in law.

    I was diagnosed on October
    I was diagnosed on October 8, 2009. Had the "surgery" on Dec. 21, 2009. Started chemo in March 2010, finished chemo in May. CT scan clear in July and have another scheduled for next week. I was also staged at T3N1M0. It has been one hellava ride since last October, but every day I get a little better and stronger. I had 4 rounds of chemo, Cistplatin and 5FU every three weeks for 96 continous hours each round.

    This site has been a lot of help to me. Everyone here is very helpful, and have answered my questions and given encouragement and prayers.

    Diagnosed Nov.13.
    Diagnosed T3n1mo, Nov.13. 2007---chemo and then surgery ,May 2008. After a barrium swallow, I saw my surgeon today. It showed no evidence of disease, My dr, said I had passed the two year mark so my survival is at 80%. I see oncologist next week with a CT scan the week after. I expect the results to be the same. Praise be to God, my survival is-two years, ten mths and sixteen days.
    Thanks Donna for the opportunity to share, and by the way , the 1943 is my birth year. God has been good to me in my 67 years!

    My hubby was diagnosed on August 4, 2009 as a T3N1M0. After surgery, he was re-staged as a T2N0M0.

    Charlie was diagnosed on March 25, 2009....stage iv...currently still stable. 18 months and counting. God is good.

    One year since DX stage IIA. Doing well, Just learning how to not eat to much.

    Thanks for all that have responded so far and for those who will respond. It is just so uplifting to see your numbers. We are so inundated with statistics sometimes, what a wonderful relief to put our numbers up. My fav commercial is the one where someone sings happy birthday meaning more birthdays for cancer survivors. Keep the stories and numbers coming.

    Hi Donna,

    Diagnosed eight weeks ago as a stage 4b EC. Three rounds of chemo, and good CT Scan result two weeks ago. Clinical trial at MGH. I take each day as it comes but am hopeful for longevity and quality of life.

    Hi Donna,

    I was diagnosed in November of 2009 as T2N1M0 Stage IIB. Ivor Lewis surgery December 3rd of 2009 followed by 6 rounds of adjuvant chemo with Cisplatin, Epirubicin, and 5 FU.

    It has now been 11 months since diagnosis and I am doing well. I can now eat almost anything I want (items with high sugar content are the exception). I have gained back about 15 of the 30 pounds I lost. I am now walking about 4 miles a day for exercise and last week played golf badly and loved every minute of it.

    As most of us say, “each day is a blessing”. I hope for many more for all of us.

    My husband's was diagnosed April , 2010. He just completed his 9th round of chemo. There are cancer cells in his stomach. One day at a time and our Faith is getting my family thru this. You are all in my prayers.

    My dad is 14 month post
    My dad is 14 month post diagnosis of stage 3 EC. He had pre-op clinical trial rad & chemo at Duke and then surgery 12/09---and then follow up chemo. I am thankful for this time that we have had with my dad----

    My husband was T3N1 April 2009. Been through the drill.
    Two clean scans. 1 1/2 year survivor! YAY!!!!!

    Survivor - 9 months and counting :)
    My 78 year old dad was diagnosed Stage III EC - T3N2MO in December of 2009. Began a regime of Taxol and Carboplatin in February of 2010, and had 30+ targeted radiation treatments. He had medical complications and he was unable to have surgery. In June of 2010 both his tumor had shrunk and his nodes showed little to no cancer activity, but the cancer had spread to his liver (both nodes)- now he is Stage IV.

    Since August he has been on 5FU pump, 2 more treatments to go this round, then a scan October 15th to see how the mets are responding to the chemo and what options are available. He has regained some strength and we are going back to Sloan on the 28th of October. And yes even when things are bleak we continue to fight on while it looks like good days can be achieved. And these days my dad is gaining strength, weight and feeling better so I keep on hoping that we will be blessed with more time. And the blessing is that he is eating whatever he wants - no more soft food.

    Every day is a gift.
