primary peritoneal spread to breast

I am wondering if any of you have had ovarian/primary peritoneal spread to the breast? Or two primary cancers...ovarian/PPC and primary breast cancer? My mom was diagnosed 1.5 years ago with primary peritoneal, stage 4. In the spring, they found cancer in her breast. Since she was already back in treatment for the peritoneal cancer, they have not specifically addressed the breast involvement until now, thinking the chemo she is on will help. Now, she is having more of an issue with her breast and today was her cat scan and monday will be her mammo. It is a nervous time and I am wondering if any of you have had a similar situation?

    I am sorry your mum is suffering, its not fair is it? In answer to your question, I have not had any tumours spread to my breast but there is a relationship between PPC & Breast cancer. They are the same gene. Because of my PPC diagnosis & the fact my mum had breast cancer at 49 years old they tested me for the BRCA gene mutation and I was positive for BRCA2+. Because I am positive with BRCA I am 80% at a hogher risk of developing breast cancer. Maybe your mum has this gene mutation?

    The positve is that breast cancer is curable if caught early & I suspect this is possibly the case with your mum. I am due to have a mammogram at the end of Oct as a precaution. I have also been offered a prophaletic double mastecomy & oophrectomy to prevent any more cancer.

    Hi Tina,
    Would you believe that my mom tested negative for both BRCAs? We'll find out more next week about the breast involvement. I spoke to her this afternoon and she was busy trying to fix the sink! She is something... :) She is determined to stay busy while waiting for this round of test results. I am learning a lot about how to face adversity from watching her!

    Are you still feeling great? I sure hope so!

    Sorry to hear about your Mom....it is discouraging isn't it? I also can relate to your amazement about your mother's attitude...I truly can't believe my mother sometimes. I think if I was going through all this, I would have given up a long long time ago....In fact, I'm pretty sure of it...Please keep us updated about your mother. I am thinking of you...

    Hello Eileen
    Your mum sounds an amazing woman. How strange about your mum's gene results. I am feeling well - got IBS symptoms on and off (I had been diagnosed with that years before my cancer) which cause temporary bloating. This is giving me anxiety as it is uncomfortable & the nagging voice in my head is wondering if it is ascites. I next go for my blood count at the end of October. Im hope things go well for your mum, please let us know how she is doing.
