Let The Countdown Begin!!!

OK all you Tamoxifen sisters out there...10 more days and I'm done!! I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally finish! I want to celebrate in a BIG way! My first thought was to go get a banana split! I've been seriously thinking about what flavored ice cream would go with choice of toppings! LOL. Then I thought maybe it isn't such a great idea to celebrate around food?:( But then again, I don't EVER eat banana splits!) I think the last time I had one I was like 8 years old! LOL.

Anyway...open to any creative (and relatively inexpensive) ideas on how to celebrate!!!

And may I just say...I've thoroughly enjoyed being on this board. You ALL are amazing ladies!

    After chemo, I hosted a "No Mo Chemo" party and had a great time. One of my docs showed up and that meant so much. But, whatever you do, have a great time! Congrats and cyber hugs coming your way!

    After treatment we decided
    After treatment we decided to start doing something that we enjoyed but hadn't done since the kids were teens. Camping. So we bought a travel trailer and started camping. This is something we gave up cause life got busy and the kids didn't want to go. We love camping so it was a big way for us to celebrate since I barely left the house during treatment.

    I'm not saying you should do this, but look at what would mean something to you when you look back on it.

    Whatever you decide to do have fun...even if it is eating a yummy banana split...i love them...makin my mouth water!

    Hi, Sally -

    I think I'm going to have very mixed emotions when it comes time for me to stop taking Tamoxifen -- but, if you feel like celebrating, then that's exactly what you should do!

    For me, I think the fact that I'd been on it for 5 years would feel significant, and I'd want to do something with that. Maybe ask them to put 5 cherries on your banana split, and savor each one. Or do a little something special for yourself each day for 5 days. Or buy yourself 5 new pairs of earrings, or 5 scented soaps, or whatever makes you feel pretty.

    Don't know if that sparks any ideas?

    Oh Carkris I like your idea!! Though I think it would have to be a cubic zirconia! LOL.

    Traci...I love your idea with the "5's"!! Very creative:) Though I'd probably make them put 5 scoops of ice cream in that split instead of the cherries. Not a big Maraschino cherry fan! Love Bing cherries though! LOL.

    I'd take one last pill, frame it, and put it on the wall, so you can thumb your nose at it and go "na, na, na, na NA na" at it every single day for the rest of your life at it!

    But I personally would be more inclined to put the last pill bottle in the driveway and drive my car back and forth over it, cackling like a madwoman.

    I like the 5's theme - Maybe pick your 5 favorite things to do and then spend 5 days doing them - kind of like a mini vacation just for you.

    Whatever you decide, we'll all be jumping for joy along with you. Let us know how your celebration turns out!
