I had my debulking surgery on 6/21/10 and it went well. My surgeon said he removed 95% of the cancer. I had a complete hysterectomy with omentum and apendix also removed. I have been home for three weeks. I did not expect to be in such pain for so long. I had a caesarian in 1980 and gall bladder removed in 1990 and feel I recuperated much faster. I know this was a big surgery but since I am starting chemo on 7/28, I was hoping to feel stronger. I am also not happy about the chemo. I will have three rounds with three infusions per round. I have a port in my abdoman and was informed that the fluid will make me look 7 months pregnant. That is how I was at the time of my diagnosis. Fluid was drained twice and of couse after the first chemo, all the fluid was gone. I hate to sound ungrateful but this doesn't feel like progress. On the way home from the appointment with my oncologist I told my friend, you almost have to laugh at this. It just goes on and on and on.

So I am happy that my surgery went well; my surgeon says I sailed through it. I am looking forward to post chemo and being able to finally get out and hopefully get back to my life. It is good to be back with you.

Luv,
Karen
