I've been on house lock down for just about 4 weeks - due to replacement tissue expander )right) that got infected while vacationing in Arizona, Grand Canyon. Truly, I have NOT been outside my home since 4/18 when I was hospitalized with a staph infection that moved into my right breast. Emergency surgery .. followed. 2nd surgery 3 weeks later to re- constructed right breast and replaced expander ..that last surgery was .. abt 3 1/2 weeks ago - (my insurance company LOVES me, NOT).

My Infectious Diease doctor, Dr. Armin of St. Joseph's Hospital has not idea where or how I contacted staph .. I just finished that last of my anti-biotics last week .. had been on some type anti-bio for 5 weeks - orally ..

I am afraid, scared and anxious to leave my home and live life.

Just venting and anxious .. sorry ladies

    That all will go very well for you tomorrow. After being stuck in your house for the last several weeks, anxiety about venturing out - finally! - is totally understandable. Am hoping you'll have someone to accompany you.

    Waiting here for your visit's decition. I don't really think there are any good answers to any of our "why's". The only answer is "just because." Here's hoping you've healed beautifully, and you can move forward with your life!

    Got my 'Get of Jail' pass .... Exchange surgery
    scheduled for 7/21.. at 8:30 a.m. @ St.Joseph's Hospital - Orange, CA. Pushing exchange surgery as my Blue Cross insurance is due to expire on 9/30. My Plastic Surgeron asked me to take it easy, and NOT to go on any vacations b4 7/21 - hahaha..

    I swear I will be taking it easy - as this will be my 4th surgery in 6 months ..

    Bi-laterial 1/12/10
    Emergency staph -- removal of right expander 4/16/10
    Recontraction and 2nd right expander inserted 5/25/10
    Exchange of saline breast scheduled for 7/21/10

    I have Herception chemo scheduled for 6/29 .. and pre op's 7/15 .. Wow, I am so excited .. now I have to slowly re-introduce myself into society ..

    I would like to Thank all of you for your well wishes, prayers and friendship!
