edited March 2014 in Ovarian Cancer #1
Just letting you teal warriors know. I did have my blood work this morning. My white, hemo, hema, platelets are back to normal. Red cell count 3.77. Been off 2 months without chemo and shots.

But my CA 125 is up to 214. Had been normal for 3 months during my treatment.

Going to The James Center in Columbus for second appointment. Guess I am eligible for the clinical trial now!!!

Sure have felt much better without the chemo last two months! (Don't we all?)

How do I feel about this??? Another opportunity to see God working through my life and my husbands. To Him be the Glory. (Would much rather have heard a lower number!! ☺)

Living for Eternity,
Libby

    Libby, despite the rise in
Libby, despite the rise in your CA-125, it is good to see that your body is recouping from the chemo in that your blood counts are returning to normal. This will give you extra strength and hopefully will support the effectiveness of a clinical trial drug, or whatever treatment path is offered to you.
I know as well as you that He holds our hand and leads us in a steady but gentle path forward, even when we want to break away and run. I will be interested in the clinical trial -I believe my husband is still going strong because of a clinical trial he has been in for almost two years. It's a double blind study and we've never been told whether he's getting the 'drug' or not, but so far his bone scans are clean.
I think OVCA trials at least tell you what type of drug you're getting so that you know the drug is there working for you. Prayers to you all for safe travel and a positive plan moving forward! Blessings and sunshine, Ellen

    Praises to God
So good to hear that your blood counts are back up and you are feeling better. I think that the cistoplatin and gemzar is supposed to do a number on my counts but they were all in the normal range this morning before the chemo. Maybe the two transfusions I had last week, though.

Our attitudes seem to be similar. No trials mentioned for me yet..... Saundra

    Hello Libby,
    Every new

    Hello Libby,

Every new trial, drug, opportunity is the promise of our opportunity to live a more extended life.

I just finished my maintenance taxol last week and am now looking forward to my 2-months without the doctors/office visits, etc.

How long will this break last? I don't know. But I'm glad I have it. Look at what the alternative could be!

Yes, to Him be the Glory.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Sharon

    GOOD LUCK
Let us know what trial they are recommending. I am always interested in who is doing what. Although it is hard to keep up at times.

Happy to hear you are feeling well though. Build your strength before the next challenge.

    XOXOXO
