I'm reading this book, and it's amazing.

Here's a link to it on amazon. Watch the video of the Dr. talking. He had brain cancer, twice.

I am just amazed by this book, I got it from the library, so you don't have to spend money.

Chris

(oops forgot to put the link! chemo brain!! It's there now!)

You're welcome. I'm really into it.

Since I am triple negative, I'm trying to figure out why and how I got breast cancer... and like the Dr. in the book says, we eat 3 times a day every day, so I'm putting all kinds of chemicals in me, unknowingly, thru what I eat.

Some people will think it's nuts, others will get into it like me. As a matter of fact, my friend told me that she knew a guy with prostate cancer who refused chemo treatments and just went off of all sugar, and his cancer went away... I thought she was crazy... I even read internet research that said that wasn't so... but, last night I read in this book that sugar does in fact feed cancer. It has to do with your insulin and glycemic index.

I've never read a non-fiction book cover to cover, this will be my first. I wish I would have gotten this 6 months ago, maybe my lump wouldn't have grown during chemo. I was unknowingly feeding my lump lots of sugar. (white rice, white bread, pretzels, potatoes...not just eating sugar)

He never says not to get chemo, but gives lists of food that help chemo work. He believes that we still need the traditional methods of chemo, rads & surgery.

I read this book while I was in chemo and found it to be eye-opening. It is a must read. I could relate to everything in the book, even down to the personality traits.

During treatment last summer and fall I read 4 cancer books, then I read 2 more about post-cancer. Then I read "The Anti-Cancer" book and it was just what I needed for this stage of recovery!
MD Anderson cancer center in Houston is taking on Dr. S's challenge of researching how MULTIPLE factors can affect cancer growth, such as diet and exercise, or meditation and smoking, or stress and sleep quality! He says it ALL figures in whether or not a person can overcome the normally occuring abnormal cells that we all develop from time to time. Some of them develop into wildly growing abnormal cells (cancer) and most get killed off by our body's defenses. Want to know how to boost your defenses? Read this book!

    Vitamin D and asparagus
I have read that vitamin D and asparagus actually cure cancer. I have started both and am hoping there is some truth to it.
