Input from three Doctors today

We saw Jim's primary Doctor today and told him of our concerns over the conflicting information we'd gotten concerning the liver surgery. He said he would go for the surgery. Then his colon surgeon called and we discussed the situation and our concerns over what he saw, and he was concerned that the surgery may not be the best thing he seemed to lean toward just chemo. He then called Dr. Schoup at Loyola so she would be clear about what he saw during Jim's colon surgery and then she called us to let us know she still feels confident about going ahead. She sounds very confident.
We're spent...we're scared...we're going ahead with it.

Peggy Lucky...If you see this post, I may try to find you on Tuesday at Loyola as long as he is okay to leave for a bit. It would be good to talk to someone who has had both the colon and liver surgery face to face. It will depend on how he's doing. Thanks for offering.

April

Well it sounds like the liver resection is a go and that is great news. I wish you nothing but the best going forward and with recovery.

There is another member who is 3 weeks out from surgery and she posted yesterday, "iluvmms". She had a couple bumps in the road but is doing well. Not sure where her surgery was at. You could probably pm her if you had any questions but not sure if she is going to be on line to respond.

    Take care - Tina

    April- just saw this post.
April- just saw this post. And yes, it is maddening to get different opinions with no consensus. I'll be at Chemo next week, i don't know how to do a priate message but here's my email and then i'll give you my phone number and we can talk.

I live close to Loyola, so I can meet you there and chat face-to-face with you/Jim..whatever you want...I am a walking miracle..I was a skeleton with not a lot of people thinking I'd make it to a thriving post-liver resection miracle.....Hang In there and I am SERIOUS, say the word and I'll meet you anytime...

I know how overwhelming it is when trying to make decisions, gather enough einfo, sort it all out. It's absolutley draining taking a crash course in cancer
