    I know how you feel.
    I had

    I know how you feel.

I had to have shots and blood transfusions to make it thru my chemo, too. And I had to postpone my dental work for four months because one or the other - white count, red count, or plateletts, were always too low.

But I finally made it thru and so will you. Libby has had a lot of the same issues, and probably others, as well. It's soooooooo frustrating.

How many more treatments do you have?

    Yes you will finish
Its hard. My mother ended up in the hospital twice during her chemo. Once for a full week. She had numerous transfusions and her kidneys were not working properly. It was a bear. Her last 2 chemos were both re-scheduled. And you know what, after she was done, her CA-125 had normalized and she got a remission, which we were told would never happen. Anyway, she hated every second of it and cried on numerous occasions, especially when in the hospital and they wouldn't let her leave. Now she's in FL enjoying every day!! YOU WILL GET THROUGH IT!!!! AND IT SUKS!!! Hang in there....Lots of thoughts coming your way!!

    One Day at a Time
You will have to train yourself to take this in small packages. Sometimes it is an hour at a time. Don't be hard on your self, this is a war you are in. Start a blessing list and focus on the good things that go on around you each day. This is the way I handle it. Saundra

    What a wonderful idea
What a wonderful idea Saundra, a blessing list! My husband is very fond of the history channel, Az, and he too, describes this a war, full of lots of little battles. When I get overwhelmed by the big picture, he reminds that it's the General's job to look at that, and I don't get to be the general in this war. My job is to face each little battle with courage and do the best I can. My husband is a man of medicine, so to him the General is my oncologist. As a woman of faith, I tend to believe that the General overseeing my health and recovery is the other "big G," God.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Az!

    HUGS!

    Hang in there....
    Hi, az,

I know how it feels. I just finished my 4th round of chemo. I have actually had 2 rounds in the last year. First it was Gemzar alone; and it just didn't work. It brought my CA down a little; but never to the "normal" range. Then I ended up filled with fluid and was hospitalized twice. I couldn't keep food in me or down me. (diarrhea & vomiting). I got down to 98lbs (from 125), and I didn't think I was going to make it out of the hospital. That was in September.

Then, while I was still in the hospital, they started me on chemo AGAIN. (I had received 6 Gemzar treatments previously and finished those in July). So this time my Dr. tried me on Carbo/Taxol again, only this time he added Avastin to the mix. Avastin gives me horrible headaches and a runny nose; but you know what? I'm in REMISSION. I just found out this week. CA is stable at 6.1 for 2 months now; and my CT Scan was clear! I still can't believe it.

I was about ready to give up when I was in that hospital, so sick, and then I started talking to God. Next thing I was up out of that bed, walking the halls with my IV pole at 2am. I walked as much as I could, and I got some juice & yogurt from the nutrition room. I only had 2 bites of yogurt, and I sipped at the juice. But God and my Hope & Faith just turned things around. I found a deep-down determination that I didn't know I had it in me.
But I knew I wasn't ready to leave this world, and I HAD to get well. I couldn't leave this messy house to my dear husband who has been a God-send through this entire ordeal!

So hang in there, Az... suddenly you're going to turn things around, too. I just know it.
There are always going to be those "rough" days... but then you're going to see a light at the end of that very distant tunnel. Believe me, it's there~

    Love & Hope to you~

    I like Saundra's idea
    I like Saundra's idea too,
Because it so true. Just don't give up and certainly know you are not
    alone in this battle.

Keep your mental strength intact sister, because right now; mental strength is all we seem to have during these trying times.

    So please hang in there!
