Went to my doctors visit to review the final path report. It was absolutly excellant. I originally declined a needle biopsy and requested they remove the entire lump for biopsy. The path report found no trace of cancer in the breast or node, all clear. It was .08 CM, very tiny, grade 1. ER+. No chemo, no Rad, and will see the oncologist to determine if we will do Hormonal therapy or not. I feel so blessed. This site and all of the wonderful women here have my heartfelt gratitude. They have helped to quiet my fears, and help me to understand this lifelong journey to wellness. We truly are strong women.
I am sending prayers to all that you will feel cared for, loved, and at peace in this journey.
Karen

was your tumor DCIS or invasive?
Hey, youngnana, congrats. I know the relief you are feeling.

Did they tell you if it was DCIS or invasive? I had DCIS, 9mm, grade 3, ER+ and was told that rads was necessary. However I did the accelerated partial breast irradiation so it was over in 9 days. Wondering if they talked to you about it. I am now on hormonal (Tamoxifen) therapy.

    DCI
    Hi Connie,
I was diagnosed as DC Invasive, stage 1, grade 1. .08cm, and had a bi-lateral mastectomy with expanders a week ago. I will talk with the oncologist next week for their recommendtion about Hormone Therapy. Have you noticed any side effects? Huge relief at no Chemo.
Sending prayers that all goes well for you,
    Karen

    More good news.
My pathology report showed no evidence of cancer in the six nodes that they excised during my Lumpectomy. My invasive mass was 3mm, with well defined margins, Estrogen and Progesterone + Her - (Stage I). I will see the Medical Oncologist on April 22. My surgeon says that radiation and hormonal therapy will be my most likely treatment. Anxiously awaiting my appointment with the Oncologist to finalize treatment plan. I return to work tomorrow and I am feeling optimistic.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support. Thank- you Pink warriors for your wisdom and compassion.
