Hey guys, as some of you know, I was working full time and attending film school part time when I was diagnosed in 2008. I had to drop out of school to do chemo and put my dreams on hold. Well, last month I started my program over again. It is a tiring schedule of 10 hours of class a week on top of my full time job, but I love it. As part of the class, we do little improvised shoots. One of the class members put up a small project we did on her website. I shot most of it except for the short portion in which I make an appearance. It's a very silly little piece that we slapped together in a few hours, but I wanted to share it anyway. While no Scorsese, I am able to pursue my dreams after cancer. As Claudia likes to say, there is life after cancer.

Here is the website: http://www.twssshow.com/

It is the first video, under "VD Protest: Hallmark vs. Hallmark." I think there is a short advertisement you have to watch beforehand. Just having some fun!

    Very cute!
Even though I have to say that Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday (mostly because it's my birthday and it means I always get candy on my birthday!)

I liked how her protest turned around at the end, too!

Thanks for sharing - keep up with this!!!

That was cute. Glad you get to do what your hearts desire is, and did not give up on it.
My husband said "That was funny, and well done!"

Nice job! I actually watched it last nite without sound, lol, but waited til I could view it with sound before I commented. The fossil of a computer I have in my bedroom doesn't have sound, but I was anxious to see it. My ex used to be into filming; he works for CBS Eyewitness News. Since they have gone robotic in the studio, he has become a stage director... only pointing which camera for the talent to face. BUT, I was always privy to all the films he would make when we were younger and at times, the subject of his films (no, not like you're thinking). It was always a real lot of fun and it looks like you enjoyed yourself, both behind and in front of the camera. My daughter has also taken an interest in the broadcast field, but my ex has convinced her to be 'in front' of and not 'behind' the camera. She's going to college for broadcast journalism. It's a tough field, but the most important thing is to enjoy what you're doing. It looks like you do!

You have been an inspiration to me from the first time I came on the boards (almost 8 months ago) and you continue to do so, Mimi! It is AWESOME to see you go after your dream :)

    Mimi,
    First and foremost, so

    Mimi,
First and foremost, so glad you are back to chasing your dream. Second, you have talent. That was excellent. All the greats started somewhere and who knows how yours compares to theirs but they took that first step. And you are back on track. I truly loved it. It was cute, funny and well filmed. And you are so cute. Although you were only on camera a short bit it was great to see you in person so to speak. You definitely need to persue this dream. I think you could have a future doing this. And right now, women are really breaking through the boy's club in film. Thank you, thank you for sharing. Continue to share with us. We are, as you know, the most supportive people on the planet.

    Thank you, guys
I needed a pick-me-up today and you gave it to me. Today as I was cleaning out my office at work, I came across my old "cancer notebook." You know, the one where you write down all the relevant phone numbers and all the awful appointments that you have to go to in the beginning? So many that your head spins? I don't know why but it really sent me for a tailspin. I suddenly felt so tired and didn't want to do anything -- not eat well, exercise, or pursue my dreams. It just seemed all so difficult all of the sudden, you know? Thank you for helping me out on a day like this. Hope everyone is doing well.
